Excellent. 18 family members met to enjoy 80th birthday celebrations in the lovely Garden Room. The food was really good and well served.We were asked how did we find this lovely place. We also booked 4 rooms, each one so clean and well furnished.We had a nice surprise when we saw the bill. Many thanks.

Have stayed here regularly for the last year or so. Excellent staff and hospitality. Lovely breakfast. Comfortable and homely rooms. Great location. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Such a caring place. Michael welcomed me. We had the surprise of being in the bowes lyon room. So comfortable. Breakfast cooked properly and very tasty. Parking and WiFi brilliant. We will be back.

Wecoming host and staff together with a lovely room and breakfast makes this family run hotel the perfect place to stay ifyou are visiting the area.

We booked a room for my uncle and his partner as sadly my father had passed away, he lives 5 hours away. After booking I received an email regarding clarification of reason for staying. Feeling really worried that this wasn’t permitted I replied with the reason. They were so kind and considerate and upgraded their room free of charge for a more comfortable stay. That act of kindness meant so much at this difficult time. Their stay was comfortable and they were treated very well with breakfast delivered to their room, the room and hotel was lovely. Highly recommend. Thank you.

The owner Michael was an excellent host, from the time of booking to checking out. We had the Bowes Lyon room which was lovely and spacious. Thought that it would be noisy as it was at the front or the hotel and on a busy road but it was fairly quiet. Breakfast was lovely. We had to pre order the night before do wasn't sure what I'd want the following morning but it worked out fine. They normally have a restaurant in evening but because of COVID this wasn't available. Michael however kindly provided us with a list of nearby restaurants and even offered to set up a table in our room if we chose to have s takeaway. All in all we had a great overnight stay and would definitely recommend.

On arrival we were greeted by Michael, who showed us to our room and gave us details on the surrounding area. Breakfast was home cooked to order and coffee was fresh. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Towels were good quality and size. We will definitely recommend to others. Thank you Ian and Ingrid Vince

Celebrated family wedding, ALL the staff were friendly and could not do enough for us! The owners are a wonderful family who made us feel so relaxed and welcome. The food was outstanding, everything from the canapes to the desert was full of flavour and beautifully presented! Thank you for a wonderful day!

Very enjoyable stay, owners couldn't do enough for us. We informed them in advance of our dietary requirements and they catered for them without a hitch. Excellent, delicious breakfast in the morning. The Bowes-Lyon room was bigger than expected and a good size for the four of us, even with the two extra beds. Beds were comfortable and I liked the decor; though it could do with a touch up here and there, it certainly didn't detract from our stay (or the star rating!). Despite our room facing a fairly busy road and being a stone's throw from the train station it was perfectly quiet and easy to sleep. Would definitely recommend and would stay again in the future.
