Cottage of Content in Herefordshire

Small, picture perfect little pub, with friendly and helpful staff. When we arrived (it was a stop off during a walk) they said they couldn't accommodate us for food as they were fully booked but they could offer us chips which was what we wanted anyway, so win win. OH MY GOODNESS, if you ever get the chance to try their cheesy chips you will not be sorry. They we soooo good. There is also an Olympic Torch behind the bar in a display case and the patron was more than happy to tell us how it came to be there.

A tucked away gem. Arrived on a busy Bank Holiday Saturday but managed to phone ahead and secure a lunchtime table outside for us and the dogs. Staff great and so was the food.

I can't add any more positive compliments than have already been given. We've just had an excellent meal (sirloin and veg tagine) and its the best meal that we've had in a long time. I could go vegetarian as the tagine was as good as the steak. My compliments to the owner chef and his staff.🙂

Quaint little pub/restaurant found local to our holiday let. Food presented well on the plate and steak tatsed divine. Couldn't fault the meal or the hosts. Would highly recommend if looking for a special british meal out.

Beautiful location, well off the beaten track, excellent and friendly staff, great food and beer. Will definitely visit again.

My brother and his wife run this place, but this is an honest review.Food and service are leagues ahead of your average country pub. Accommodation is oldie worldy and the 1835 building does not have a straight edge in it. Located in a tiny village 500m from the river Wye with walks to die for. I use it as a base when fishing the Wye. They even have decent wifi now just incase you cannot resist Facebook or Google. Friendly with a great little bar.

I had a sirloin steak and would like to say a compliment to the kitchen cheef, as it was so delicious, so I will be definitely back to try another one.

Delicious food in a very pretty setting. So glad we found this place, almost by accident. It's clearly very popular with good reason. It's set down a quiet country lane, with its own little car park. We ate outside in the front garden which was lovely, all the flowers in bloom. We were so pleased with the great food and friendly service. Most of us had steak and the kids loved their menu. The chipped potatoes are amazing... Thumbs up to the Dortmunder beer too.100% will return.
