A lovely place with a friendly atmosphere. Great sound from the gig we attended.

Fascinating history and a lovely place to visit for the house and gardens. We didn't have anything to eat or drink there, but plenty of other people seemed to be enjoying sitting in the grounds, enjoying the atmosphere and food. I would definitely book to visit again. Excellent information from the guide who gave us the history of the building and the people who have lived, and are currently living there.

Wonderful guide - Simon I think (he has 2 daughters and 2 dogs) excellent facts, maybe facts and stories. Really could not been there for as long as we had. Well done. Lovely place and looking around the grounds an excellent place to take a family picnic on a good day. Standing stones, yew maze, lots of grass, lovely gardens, sculptures etc etc. Could not fail but enjoy. Go soon but best to book.

Only visited the garden and tea rooms today as house tours were all booked up, will definitely book a tour up in the near future as the house looks lovely. Spent a couple of hours exploring the gardens and they turned out well worth visiting. Free to visit the gardens scones and tea/coffee for two were only £8 and came with fresh cream and jam.

Lovely tranquil walk around gardens and grounds. New to us was the stone henge in the glorious buttercup filled meadow, which I forgot to photograph! Still donation only, pretty tea area by waterfeature

A must to visit. Stunning gardens and house, extremely well kept and you can truly breath an ancient atmosphere that blends with modern times. A unique experience that you can't skip, you can have walks and enjoy the nature while get knowledge of herbs and poems. Again, a must to see. Heartily recommended.

The site is only open Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday. You can access the gardens, cafe and any exhibits they might have with tickets. However, to access the house is a guided tour that requires pre-booking (standard adult price without concessions is £8). Tour lasts approximately an hour. Involves two flights of stairs, uneven at some points. Plenty of elderly people on the tour and they seemed to manage fine.Tour covers most of the house, which is mostly from the tudor period. Plenty of paintings in the various rooms, turning it into a mini portrait gallery. Paintings by Van Dyke, Goya and other names I'm sure people would know, that are art inclined (unlike me). Still interesting to hear about the history of the house and its occupants

Such a lovely place for a couple of hours break from the every day grind of life. Free entry to gardens but please make a donation. Lots to see, you just have to look for it 👀
