Sunday lunch was perfect. Busy but staff were very friendly and helpful. Fabulous spot!

Great little pub, lovely outside seating in the summer, cosy inside in the winter.

I have been here several times and the food is a bit hit and miss. One day excellent the next , well it is as if the cook just can't be bothered. The place its self is very nice excellent staff. They even have a choice of alcohol free drinks, very impressive.

What a delight!!! Dog friendly!!! Very old !! Friendly service!!! Best prawn mayo sandwich!! Plenty of prawns! A little gem hidden away! Thank you

This place has been on my wish list for some time. Used to have a really good reputation for food, and I'd driven to look at it before, the location and setting is perfect.Unfortunately, today, whilst passing close enough to call in, we did so.Only ordered a couple of sandwiches.Hot roast pork and roast beef with horseradish.Sorry, but extremely disappointed, especially given the price.It was all ok, but nothing more.Bread was low end supermarket brown bread.Cheap spread.Horseradish literally a pipette's worth on the whole sandwich, overcooked and dry beef.Apple sauce on the pork sandwich was straight out of a jar.Triple cooked chips??!? Cooked once would have been a start, positively raw in the middle and about eight chips for £3.50.Salad completely uninspiring, no effort or imagination, or dressing.£30 for a couple of disappointing sandwiches, two drinks and two portions of not so great or plentiful chips.In the words of my schoolmaster, "Could do better"Sorry, brilliant setting, great potential, disappointing reality.

Lovely, out of the way cottage pub. Bespoke tree seating outside and always a friendly atmosphere. I love that you can buy eggs through an honesty box on the way up the path - we bought duck and chicken eggs which were both really tasty!
