Just a lovely place to visit...Great landlord..well worth a visit!!

DO NOT USEONLINE BOOKING SYSTEM, THEY HAVE NO CHEF. we had a call whilst in transit on Mothers Day to say there was an error, and they hadn't used open table for bookings for 'sometime'. They let us know 40 minutes before our table time. We booked it weeks ago. Very, very poor.I see from other people this has been happening since September last year? Seems to me someone should sort it out properly.very disappointing and I would have had time to book something else if they had let me know at the time.

Very friendly small country pub. A handful of tables out the front to sit and enjoy the sun with a drink in your hand.

Lovely old pub, friendly staff.Good food, would have preferred more choice of potato options however the chips were very good even though they wouldn't have been my first choice specifically with main options being beef or belly pork. On the plus side it was no problem to tweak our meals or ask for certain sauces, dips or coulis to come separately which is always nice to have the option. Would go again.

On holiday and we were recommended the Stockton Cross. We were greeted by super friendly staff and managed to get a sunny table in garden. We ordered rarebit and the lamb shoulder. 10/10 would love to come back again.

First class food and service in a beautiful country pub, would highly recommend!

I had lunch here today. The pub was light and very clean. The staff member was extremely polite and helpful. Good measures were in place for protecting us all from covid 19 . The meals were good. chips were amazing. It lacked portion size equal to price. We had pudding and my husband and I agree it was the most stunning sticky toffee pudding we have ever tasted. It was pure pleasure to eat. Will be back again, just for pudding! 😊

Lovely old half timbered pub. We visited here for lunch on our way to Berrington Hall. It has a cosy atmosphere and was busy when we arrived. We had a warm and courteous welcome and settled down with a drink to look at the menu which changes on an almost daily basis.There were only 5-6 choices for each course and we fancied everything on the starter menu. I had the cauliflower cheese soup with crusty bread and butter and my wife had the tempura king prawns. These were both delicious. The tempura batter was wonderfully light and the prawns were HUGE. We then chose Herefordshire beef burgers from the main menu. These were topped with nicely cooked streaky bacon and melted cheese and served in a brioche bun filled with salad and sliced dill pickles. I had mine with dry fluffy fries and my wife opted for chunky chips which she declared extremely good. We were too full for a pudding which was a pity as they all sounded very appealing. The only slight disappointment was that the coffee machine was out of order. The staff were friendly, efficient and attentive. All in all a very pleasant experience and one that we would happily repeat.

Stunning dinner here. Wife's sea bass was one of the tastiest pieces of fish she's ever had. My fillet steak was cooked to perfection, very reasonably priced too! Try a pint of Hereford Ale Betty Bach - so smooth!
