Lovely and welcoming. Service very good. Best meal out I have had for ages. Would definitely go again.

Booked for a meal here with the family after driving past. Really welcoming and lovely homemade food. Came back the next day for another meal - really enjoyed it again. If we're ever in the area again would not hesitate to visit again.

Popped in for a quick beer as waiting for friends to arrive in area very friendly folks running the pub good pint of local ale worth noting weekdays they old traditional opening hours.

I have visited the Monkland Arms on several occasions since Ali and Jed took over and have always been impressed by the warm welcome and friendly staff. There is a very good selection of ales and ciders and the menu is extensive and very good value for money. Well worth a visit! (Very good Covid arrangements too)

Had a lovely Sunday lunch with family. The food and drinks were excellent and everyone was friendly, such a lovely atmosphere. Will go again, really lovely.

A nice pub but nothing special at least tonight. Food reasonably good with well sized portions. Some nice artifacts around and I liked the furniture. Staff very good, pleasant and helpful. It was very quiet in there tonight which for a village pub is a surprise. Probably what let it down tonight, I'm sure I'll try another time to see if I can upgrade my star rating.

We went to see Whiskey River play, they did a great set out in the garden. A nice pub, service was a bit slow and chaotic but the staff were very friendly. It's got a nice garden with plenty of seating, the access to it is via steep steps which might be a problem for aged folk, also not sure about wheelchair access. Plenty of parking so no problems there. There is an extensive menu but we just had (very generous) pork baps outside. Overall pretty good!

We had our 30th wedding anniversary meal here whilst on holiday. The decor was well thought out and the ambience was very pleasant. The menu was simple but had a good selection. The meal was excellent, very tasty and the service was exceptional. We will definitely go again .

Lovely ambience and great service. Food is delicious, nothing to fault it. We had small grandchildren with us, and they were made welcome. There were even board games for the children, a great hit!. Very friendly staff and lovely interesting art and curios around the place. Highly recommended.
