The fish and the chips were nice. The batter isn't the best though, and was too hard to cut on the battered sausage. The Chinese curry sauce included bits of chicken, which wasn't pointed out. Overall slightly disappointed.

The cod snax were amazing and great value. Great crispy batter. Chips were your usual fish and chip standard.

Exceptionally good fish and chips, worth the travel. The icecream is amazing for afters aswell. Would definitely recommend👍

Really good fish and chips… and some other great alternatives.

We were on holiday, the food from the Old Stables was amazing, Highly recommend. You can phone in your order or order at the counter ( bring an umbrella as you do not go inside), all freshly cooked but worth every minute of the wait. From Battered fish, steamed fish, steak pie, sausages and chips that were light fluffy and not too greasy..plus lovely staff a perfect experience.. Thank you.

Fresh, hot and very tasty. Excellent. Popped in for first time about 4pm just as it opened. Served straight away with perfectly cooked traditional fish and chip meal. What a gem. Thank you.

I'm not sure if some of the reviewers on here have actually tasted decent F&C. I used this place a few times but less and less now, I called recently expecting the quality to have changed but I was disappointed. The batter on the fish is either leathery or too much and unless you ask for cod you will be served anything. As for the chips, I can't explain the taste but it is definitely different, you get a few decent sized chips but mostly just small bits. It is unusual to get fresh chips as they are mostly warmed up. Don't be first in line for the evening fry as you will get the afternoons chips. The staff are friendly and serve large chip portions but this makes up for the small bits that are thrown away and the black chips.I think most people are just loyal in a small village and there is no other choice and no competition.

Definitely the best fish and chip shop in Herefordshire, worth the drive. Fish always chunky, white, lush cod (or whatever you fancy) no cheap nasty fish here. Girls serving always happy and cheerful. Have become a regular visitor which is not good for the waistline 😝. Try them you will not be disappointed. FANTASTIC !!!!

Fantastic fish and chips. Well worth waiting for freshly cooked food. Crispy batter on the fish and nice juicy chips. We always look forward to having our tea from here whenever we are on holiday in the area. Friendly staff, reasonably priced and very welcoming.
