The Saracens Head Inn in Herefordshire

Saved our Easter Day! Haddock and chips was yum! My assistance dog and her friend loved it too. Friendly helpful staff. Parking can be a little awkward and I’m not sure I could have used my wheelchair or even got it out of the car due to space issues.

Beautiful location for a restaurant and pub. Really appreciated the allergy awareness of the manager too. I have a nut allergy and they were willing to accommodate my needs and alert the kitchen. We will definitely be back 🙂

It was very busy when we visited. The ales were well kept and a good selection. The food however seemed rushed. The fish was over cooked as was the steak. Stunning location on the river but you do have to pay to park even for the pub.

Yet another visit to this wonderful little place, sadly this time only for lunch on Monday as we were passing by but can’t wait to book the boat house once more. This is my favourite place to be. Would recommend to anyone who likes a lovely location with comfortable rooms, great food and friendly staff, it’s a hidden gem 👍🏻

Idyllic location, delightful property offering just 8 double rooms plus 1 twin. A lot off thought having gone into each and very nicely appointed. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful making the environment happy and restful.The real stand out however was the food. A true gastronomic delight. Seafood cooked to perfection is a rarity even in specialist restaurants, but this was sublime. Pricing is where you would expect it to be for quality, but to my mind this was great value.Most definitely going back, it's an absolute must, having had such a tremendous experience.

The best Sunday lunch ever. We spent a lovely few hours in this beautiful pub on Sunday, and the overall feedback from folks who know their food was that it was a 10/10 experience. It was perfectly cooked from the Chicken to Herefordshire beef to the Venison roast, a great portion and lovely seasonal veg. The only blot on their copybook was the lack of a vegetarian gravy option for our friends who lunched with us. Both are vegetarians. Their veggie option was excellent, but they weren't given a gravy option apart from the meat gravy option, which isn't an option for vegetarians. A strange one, to be honest, as every other part of the menu, was so well thought out and executed. Perhaps when we're back next year, they'll have a vegetarian gravy option on the menu. We know that would make our friend Sally very happy. Overall. Splendid. I really wanted to give 5/5 but I couldn't on this ocassion.

Quite expensive - over £8 for a lunch baguette, which is higher than London prices! But good portions.Friendly and helpful bar staff - as much as they can be with covid rules. The pub itself is fairly bland, but it was recently flooded so that's likely why. Beautiful rivers views and plenty of outside seating.If you drive, you have to pay for parking, so a day out in this area with food turns out to be quite expensive in the end.

Delightful pub, efficient and friendly staff, who wore facemasks. A one way system was in place. It's a shame that customers didn't obey the pub's guidance.Our Sunday lunches were the best we've had in a few years! Brilliant choice and range of vegetables, and the sheer amount of sliced beef I had was superb, (and I have a large appetite). My other half had the vegetarian option, which she also enjoyed.A brilliant pub in a lovely historical setting.Thanks, guys, much appreciated.

Usually a really lovely place in an idyllic spot along the Wye. But oh dear the service this time. I would have preferred to be told they were really short on staff (late summer 2021) that to completely under-deliver. Food took close on an hour to arrive, having been told only to order from the sandwich menu (yet other tables ordering before and after us got full menu options, albeit they too had to wait the same). Even the rope ferry, a real pull for the location (pun intended), was out of order due to staff shortage.

Love this place, the setting is beautiful, with fabulous views and walks. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food excellent, all cooked fresh and very good quality. Also excellent choice of ciders/beers. We had booked a nights stay, unfortunately there was a mix up with our room and we ended up with an inferior room to that which we had booked. They were very apologetic and gave us a huge reduction, but it was our 35th wedding anniversary and we were very disappointed. My husband would go back tomorrow, I'm not quite ready to forgive them yet!!
