Afternoon Tea at BEST WESTERN The George Hotel in Lichfield

Great Little find, pleasant and welcoming, our room was a little on the small side and was a bit warm at night, no access to the aircon unit, so was stuck with it.Have to say all the staff were very polite and always smiling 😊(Pictures taken were from the Dining Room area)Only gave 3 stars as it's a 3-star establishment

Loved this hotel. Excellent location, walking distance to everything, lovely cafes, pubs, restaurants, shops, lakes, gardens and the amazing Cathedral all very close, less than 5 minutes walk. Comfy beds, quiet and clean rooms, delicious breakfast served in a lovely restaurant area, great bar, nice outdoor area with fairy lights and a fountain. Welcoming friendly staff. Nothing bad. Stayed longer than we planned. Loved it!

The George Hotel is a friendly place to stay. The staff were all very polite.The hotel is very clean with a good atmosphere. The rooms are a good size and the shower is one of the best that l have used. The breakfast was excellent with all you can eat and good quality.I would definitely stay there again. It is a great place to stay for looking around Lichfield and the local area. We were there for a 60th birthday party in the function room and the buffet was excellent as were the drinks which were reasonably priced.

Went for a weekend stay with function. Staff are professional and very friendly. Food was really good in the Darwin restaurant, bar food and the function.Seating in restaurant, lounge, bar and function room is comfortable.Function rooms are well presented.The bedroom, however, was disappointing. The decor makes the room dark and dingy. The furniture is dark and impractical. Long mirror on inside of wardrobe door, but couldn't use it as when opened it faced a wall.The bathroom needed modernising. Windows couldn't open so very stuffy room.Saying that, there must be restrictions due to the age of the building. Would I go again? Yes, but request a different room.

Great town centre location with free parking when you book direct. The hotel is clean throughout and our room was well serviced. The staff were friendly and helpful. The evening menu was varied but I found the food a little disappointing. Breakfast was good, tasty, varied and good value. The decor was tired and a very loud extractor fan runs in a courtyard from 06:00, which is very loud.

We went to a wedding here and I was impressed with the Garrick Room where we had the wedding and the reception afterwards.Could do with a bit of modernization here and there but keeping within the rustic and historical appearance.It sits in the heart of Lichfield City Centre and have easy access to shops and nearby bars and restaurants.

Spacious, warm and welcoming oold coaching inn, now a Great Western hotel. Restaurant and bar open to non-residents We had an excellent lunch at a reasonable price, with great service from friendly, helpful staff. We will certainly visit here again when in Lichfield.

Afternoon tea for 7Service very goodLoved the selection of china.Sandwiches and cakes really nice but I would suggest changing the scone recipe . I'm afraid they were more like rock buns - flat and hardOtherwise everything very nice.Would certainly book again

An overnight stay. The room was maybe a little tired but generally it was clean, the staff were excellent and the breakfast was five star. It's a buffet so you can have exactly what you like. A car park at the rear, be sure to register the car when you get there, I didn't although I paid for parking and have been told to expect a fine which I must stress will be sorted by the hotel I'm assured.Overall a comfortable stay. We'd stay again.

The staff were fantastic and very attentive when we visited the George for my brother's wedding. The venue is beautiful and tucked away in this small town. The food was lovely and the drinks fairly priced. We never stayed in the rooms above the bar but my family members did and said the rooms were a good size and very clean. Thanks for making my brother's day go without a hitch guys.
