We have been to Ego several times and always enjoyed the delicious food, always freshly cooked and beautifully presented. Today's visit was special as we had friends with us who we hadn't seen for a very long time. We were greeted warmly and seated at our table immediately. The service throughout our stay was impeccable. I can highly recommend Ego, In view of the Lichfield Cathedral the place to be seen. Thank you for mak8ng our afternoon special ❤

Had a great table with a view of the cathedral across the water. The two course lunch menu is a great deal and the chickpea dish exceeded expectations.

Went for moms 75th Birthday, table of 12. We had a fantastic time. Great food and drinks. Staff were lovely and really attentive. Most had 2 courses and everyone really pleased with choices. Food was hot and tasty. Cocktails were amazing. Great evening definitely recommend.

We booked for my mums 70th birthday on Friday , service was great and food arrived quickly however the main course was not good. Three of us had ordered fillets steaks..and they were so fatty and full of gristle and mine and my fathers were sirloin and not fillet, and all three steaks cooked wrong as per our request. I wanted to complain but my father insisted i didn't as not to ruin my mums birthday, hence I am doing it now. The bill was well over £200 and it really was an under par meal. This is the third time we have been to ego as we all live in the vicinity and this was starting to become a favourite restaurant of ours, but after last time i don't think we'll be back again. Shame. A disappointed customer.

Usually love it here but today the service was just not up to standard. We only had one round of drinks with no offer of any more, in the end got up and asked for some more water from the barman. Had used cutlery for starters and when mains came we were not given any more. I had what looked like undercooked chicken on my kebab, there was a vein but a huge chunk was still pink. This was handled by a manager and taken off the bill but we were told that it definitely wasn’t raw as items are temperature probed before being sent out-which I find hard to accept, I can’t believe they probe every single piece of meat on the kebab?? And if this was a larger piece then it could likely have been undercooked. We then had to flag down our server, unsuccessfully a few times to order desserts, being mindful that the table was needed back in 20mins. We then waited at least 25mins for our two desserts to arrive, and by this time we were ready to just pay and leave. There was a nice touch with writing happy birthday on the dessert plate but if that’s what held up our order then it just wasn’t worth it. And when the basics of service are lacking then it feels like a desperate, tick-box gesture. We will be back because we like the menu, but we wont rush after today.

I've visited this Ego on numerous occasions. The staff are welcoming and helpful with food choices should you wish to try something different. There is rarely an instance where food has had to be returned to the kitchen. If by chance this happens you are compensated in some way.I always enjoy my visits to Ego, the overall ambience of this restaurant is relaxed. I would be happy to book here again.

We booked a table for a birthday celebration. We were seated right away. Staff was attentive and cordial.Food was delicious. We ordered the set meal, and it was worth the price!Atmosphere was very nice. Try to get a seat by the window. Great view.

·

Lovely restaurant, very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and the food absolutely delicious. Not 5 star review as one of the side dishes was overcooked but we were not charged for this on the bill with no fuss. Will definitely return. Loved it.

Lovely food and atmosphere. However the calamari starter was over cooked and had the texture of rubber bands.
