Jewel in the crown Restaurant in Lichfield

I know there are lots of 5 star reviews about this restaurant and I can only put my experience down as a blip on their part but after receiving my order costing nearly £70 I was lets say very disappointed. I have eaten in most Indian restaurants or had deliveries over the past 25 years that I have lived in Telford and never has a delivery quite as bad as this. All 5 curries ordered tasted very bland, even my teenage son commented on his curry not tasting very nice even before I had mentioned anything !! The chips looked and tasted as though they had been sitting out all day and just re-heated for a few minutes before being put into a brown paper bag, I dont normally post bad reviews like this but I can honestly say there are so many good Indian restaurants in Telford to choose to have a good meal from and that A Jewel In The Crown is in the minority class, I just thought I would try a different Indian delivery for a change which back fired on me, Lesson learned stick to what you know is best "Spice Island"

An honest 5 star review. I've eaten here (under various owners) for years, and it's always been good. The new owners are working hard to raise the already high standards. In fact, my starter (nargis kebab) was one of the best I've ever had

Food is amazing and friendly. Lovely owner and staff. There got my son food spot on has he fussy with his food I phone them up and asked for curry not to be spice and my son loves it so it our favourite place.

Wonderful atmosphere and host, waiter was attentive, polite and jovial. The food was brilliant, it was clear by the quality of the dishes time and attention had been put into making the meal in addition the starters, main and desserts arrived within a reasonable time. The venue was clean and sanitary.Would highly reccomend and will be looking to return either for eat in or order via takeaway. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Always love the food from here. Usually we get a take out, however now things are open again we went for our first dine in experience. Service was amazing, food tastes even better when you dine in! Lots to choose from on the menu. Compliments to the chef! Will be returning soon.
