Swan Island Fish Bar in Lichfield

Came here today from lichfield for the first time after several recommendations and it definitely beats any chip shop in lichfield. Ordered a small donner meat and chips which came out like a large portion was great overalland the donner meat was the best tasting around. Tasted like proper lamb and the chips were spot on will definitely be using this one again instead of a lichfield local. Well done 👏

27/5/22..... Just visited and I have to say and rating today you are lucky to get a two star review. Lamb Kebab meat was cold and I had the scrapings. It was burnt. The plain chicken meat was also cold and was full of sinus. Not impressed at all as I was waiting for a long time for fish to cook. I watched people in come in after me with orders the same as me go out before me.Sorry but not impressed this visit. Previous visit a five star

Great place, staff were friendly and very helpful. I asked the staff some question in regards to how they prepare and handle certain food, and they where very honest and transparent. And the food was delicious.Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely be going back.

Used this fish bar for the first time tonight, won't be going back, fish was dry and tasteless, chips were hard and must have been cooked ages ago, kebab meat was dry and tasteless, heard from a friend how good it was and had won awards but must have had notice when the examiners were going.

Nothing special, very over priced for very standard chip shop food. Wont be returningStaff are lovely though 😊

We’ve recently moved to the area and decided to give this chippy a try one lunchtime. We ordered kebab in naan, kebab and chips and two kids meals. Everything was absolutely amazing and so fresh. I think it’s possibly the best kebab we’ve tasted and we’ve tasted a lot. Not to mention the polite and friendly service from the lovely lady behind the counter. We’re going to be using it again tonight so hopefully it’s as good!! Definitely recommend trying it here though you won’t be disappointed!!

Not impressed at all. Traveled from Cannock as I heard this place was good. Very disappointed. Says you have a choice of battered or normal chips, but was never offered the choice. When I asked the woman behind the counter she told me that she had started the order and that I would have to have normal. The chips were pale and bland. The chicken kebab meat was dry and the salad was manky. How this place has won awards I’ll never know. Not a patch on the Jolly Fryer in Heath Hayes. Definitely won’t be going back. 👎
