The Alrewas Fryer in Lichfield

Don't bother, just awful fish and chips. Fish wasn't cooked the batter was still soggy on the inside. Ugh!! The chips taste 'old' they are dry and under cooked. It all went in the bin.

Excellent, classic, English fish and chip shop run by friendly, efficient staff. Our cod and chips lunch was obviously freshly prepared and tasted fabulous. Kebabs also available.

Went to the Alrewas fryer this evening ordered mixed meat kebab salad chilli sauce and mayonnaise there was no chicken very little mayonnaise and very little chilli sauce and a teaspoon full of salad and the chips were dry this chip shop is local to us we have nowhere else to go and found it disappointing.

Just tried the Gyros Box from the new Greek menu. Another fantastic addition to our local takeaway. It was of high standard and full of flavour. It's just been voted in the top 50 fish and chip shops in the country and its well worth its place in that list. Easy ordering system on line or by phone is great too. Keep up the good work all at the Alrewas Fryer 👍

We used the online app to order our food and when we got there I was very happy we had, it was very busy!! Despite this our order was done on time and beautifully fresh.I had cod and chips and my partner had the new gyros box. We were both very happy with our food. The fish was delicious and very filling. I will definitely be returning!! Well done all the staff on your top 50 award - how lucky we are to have this in the village!!

My partner picked up some fish and chips today and it was the worst fish and chip i ever had in my life. The batter was soaking in oil, the fish was extremely dry on the inside of the batter. The batter was also extremely unpleasent. The chips didnt feel fresh. Very disappointed as this was my Friday dinner meal.

Superb Fish & Chips. The Doner Kebab was also really Nice. Will be returning.

Easily one got best chip shops I’ve had the pleasure of eating from. I travel from the other side of Birmingham purely due to the food quality. The chicken tenders are sensational.

Just had a Donna kebab from here worst one i have had in years, very little meat, had one from here a month ago it was packed with meat and salad, if i lived close i would have taken it back.

Visited last night for fish and chips and have to say they were outstanding!! Beautiful fresh white fish with light crispy batter!! Chips amazing and generous portions. Met the new owner Alex who was very friendly and knowledgeable. Good luck on your new venture, we will be back very soon!!
