Really lovely place, has been refurbished since I was last in a few years ago.Staff were lovely and very friendly. We had a really refreshing drink while on our walk. The place had constant people coming in and out and sitting outside, it was lovely to see. Nice ample amount of car parking and plenty of outdoor space to sit. Massive garden area at the back ideal for family with children as there is a bouncy castle ❤️

Beautiful place in a quiet area. A nice little bar with a big out door field and park. A nice lovely room to eat it nice decorating and clean and the staff and food is amazing.

Boozy lunchMy friend and I enjoyed a delicious lunch today. A 3 course meal plus unlimited prosecco and a good choice of cocktails. It was fairly busy and there only appeared to be one member of staff Julie who was so friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back . Good value and would highly recommend.

Superb Food, service prices there wasn't a single thing that disappointed. Will be booking Sunday lunch very soon.

Visited last night for a family meal 😋 normally everytime we have tried to book they have always been fully booked but we were lucky to get in this time it woz fantastico delish 😋 garlic bred to start and the lamb shank the lamb just melted in yur mouth 👄 staff sooooo friendly and helpful especially the lovely 😍 👌 channel c u next week fantastico place x

Food ok. One member of staff didn't seem very happy didn't smile once. Wouldnt go back bill came to 209pounds so wasn't cheap for party if 8

Expensive. Very quiet when we were there for Valentins Night. Staff visible were very young and happy to stand around chatting to each other. Bit different to previous owners days.....

Lovely pub - the extra space created at the back was decorated really nicely, the staff were friendly and the food was good! We had a few errors with the order but everything was sorted and we'd still return again

Fabulous place, family friendly, lovely atmosphere, food is always gorgeous! Staff always friendly! Lots of choice! Outside space super & amazing in the summer months! The cabins are a great touch for a more intimate & fun get together! An the garden room we love! Such a nice feel! The Drill has always been a great local & also a lot of friends travel far to eat there as it has a great reputation! We have always had a fabulous meal! Definitely a 5* from our family & friends :-)

If I were to base my score on my own meal alone, then it really would be zero, however, as a party of 5 then I must give 2 stars, since two of the meals were good and a third also OK; had it arrived along with the other meals then this would have been a bonus. However, since this was a celebration meal, two of the party had finished their dinner by the time this third meal arrived, and it took the edge off the occasion as we watched him while he ate alone.The staff provided a free beer as compensation, and offered fries so he could be eating something with the restaurant of the group, while he waited for his ordered meal to arrive. How difficult is it to get the meals out together if you are anything close to competent and managing a professional establishment? Two of our party are vegan and had stipulated this when booking two weeks earlier. At the time of booking we were assured that vegan options were not a problem. Had The Drill been honest about their abilities then we would gave respected this and booked elsewhere. Clearly their acceptance of the booking for vegan diners was a misleading statement. The vegan burger (which may well have been sourced from the corner shop - it was of that calibre and suspect it was acquired only as a sop to fulfill the menu obligations) did not come with the brioche bun as advertised. The chips that apparently accompany the burger are not vegan and therefore not an option, and the half pound of boiled King Edwards that replaced the chips really did not cut it. Who has a burger without a bun, accompanied by boiled potatoes Contrary? Contrary to the promises made at the time of booking, there were no vegan options for dessert and the long suffering waitress apologised for even bringing out the dessert menu. The newly refurbished restaurant is good and the long awaited opening of the entire restaurant area provides a positive ambience. Can The Drill really afford to lose the payment for 20% of a Saturday evening party (we did not pay for two meals and one beer) and of course the loss of our future patronage and those with whom we speak? The meals that were OK, were good, but the overall experience was far from positive and for an industry that has suffered hugely from the impact of Covid, this car crash of an experience does little to help your recovery.
