Good menu nice variety and good vegetarian options.seating is comfortable, pub is light and spacious. Great service, very friendly helpful staff. Only down side was the music..too loud to have a relaxed lunch conversation. I think there is enough atmosphere without the additional intrusive noise.

We've eaten here twice now and the food has been exceptional both times. There is a variety of food so if you want the usual fish and chips, burgers that's avaliable but there are also more refined dishes. Their gin menu is extensive too. Staff are always lovely and attentive. Will be returning for sure

We had the best night for my daughters 18th. The staff were brilliant. We were a party of 12 adults and a baby. Nothing was to much trouble We ordered the child's food to come before ours as she needed feeding this was not a problem for them. All our food came out at the same time and was piping hot. We did look at going to a few other places first and non of theses other restaurants wanted to accommodate a party of 12 easily. The Nelson were brilliant and will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff.

We had such a lovely drink here on Mother's Day. Very nice to see the pub has had a bit of a makeover since we last went and it looks amazing inside. Drinks were well priced and service was okay, the youngsters serving on the bar all looked tired from a long day.Outside is amazing for children, it has a play area with benches for families to sit on and they have a massive field with goal posts with an included football. This is a great location for families to eat and bring their kids. Great location to walk too and the outside was kept clean and well presented at all times. Music was a little loud out there but was okay when more people were chatting away.Very impressed with this little place!

Friendly staff, flexible food options, a very nicely run pub/restaurant, food was excellent in presentation and taste with space to eat outside weather permitting. A****

Celebrated my daughter's birthday there this lunch time. Lovely pub with friendly staff. The mushroom soup was devine. We had belly of pork for main course, couldn't fault it. My other daughter had steak cooked medium rare with Stilton sauce. Absolutely gorgeous and generous portions. Unfortunately no room for dessert. Will definitely return as good variety on the menu. The fish others had ordered was enormous.

My parents recently reached their sixtieth (diamond) wedding anniversary, and chose to have a small family meal here. The service was excellent, with several attentive young ladies going to and fro, ensuring that we weren't kept waiting at all; despite the fact that there was a large party at another table. The food was superb; tasty, interesting, hot and good sized portions - my only regret was that I was unable to fit in a sweet. The cost wasn't cheap, but the meal certainly wasn't overpriced for the excellent quality and service that we recieved. The surroundings are pleasant and speak quality and attention to detail.Thank you for making a special occasion so enjoyable. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely return.

Food is fantastic, staff are attentive but don't hover too much. Although it was busy we didn't feel rushed. They did however add a whole bottle of wine onto our bill and didn't look surprised when it was pointed out! otherwise it would have been 5 star.

Nice pub. Good service, altho for some reason the girl initially greeting us was interrupted by a guy server when she was telling us where to sit. I mean, she had "here is your table" under control so that was a bit odd.Dessert should have been listed as desert as the cake was far too dry and had either been over baked or left out to dry into an arid mouth experience.Mains were very good portions, freshly cooked, tasty, and good value. Place was clean.Car park was spacious with some very funny examples of high value cars parked so badly to prove the "park it like you stole it" :D Gave us a chuckle coming in.Outside space and kids area for daytime use.Good pub!
