The Olde Peculiar Restaurant in Lichfield

Our 3 rooms were ready on arrival and were found to be immaculate. Along the pub was sadly closed during the duration of our stay, the staff were welcoming and all requests put, were gladly met.The breakfast was found to be of the highest quality as the staff displayed enviable degrees of confidence, manner, attitude, diligence and enthusiasm.These qualities, together with a collective cheerful disposition, enriched our stay in this wonderful location.Many thanks!

Very nice spacious room, check in instructions are on the green double doors in the courtyard if you arrive out of hours! Quiet village location, didn't have time to check out the canalside pub but it looked very traditional and cozy. Location suited my work travel needs. Jogged around the neighbourhood and saw some well cared for gardens and jubilee bunting on nearly every house. Comfy beds, good quality pillows and ample biscuits! Unfortunately I left before breakfast (starts at 7am and you can text / WhatsApp your order the night before which I thought was a good system!) EXCELLENT value for money. Olde Peculiar pub was closed for the night of my visit. Local chippy was open & busy!

Service great, very fast for a Sunday lunchtime. My husband was wowed by the beer - had a pint of Old Peculiar & said how smooth it was!

We hold our business networking here and the owner is so helpful and friendly. Food is fab, I've had curry and pie so far!

Popular real ale pub with good food offerings. Decent car park and B&B available.

It was absolutely awful! The lady was so disrespectful the shower was not working and I really needed to use it and she did not try to help me on the phone and then she slammed the phone on me and refused to even help! I did not even sleep the whole night and when I mentioned this to her she did not even care the bed was appalling had no springs in it and I assure you the bed was broken and I did not even get my breakfast she advised she would come to my room first thing I waited over an hour for her and I even text her many time and she ignored them I would never recommended this room to anyone. And thank you for responding to this message so promptly it would have been so nice if you dealt with my problem so promptly as well! May you learn to have a heart and be considerate running a business being so unprofessional!

Arrived on our last night or our road trip and greated by a warm welcome the room was the family room and very clean & comfortable. All praise gose to AGGIE for her professionalism, frendliness and friendly banter (but she wouldn.t serve me a crisp sandwich 😀). And the owners for a great place to stay

Stopped by for a quick drink well surprised there was an 80s disco going on. Stopped a lot longer great atmosphere and the landlord was dressed as boy George had a few good dances.Really looking forward to going back against as Boy George (the landlord) told us he was going to do 50s.60.and 70s nights definitely going back. Well km done George

The beds were very uncomfortable. Far too soft and very creaky when you turn so couldnt get comfy. I felt the rooms could of been a little cleaner. Actually found someone else's hair on the underneath of the toilet seat. The breakfast was very nice and the staff were very polite and helpful. Great location for what we needed. The pub was a great classic pub. Unfortunately the accommodation let down our stay. The shower was so small I struggled to stand in it and wash. Not great for someone slightly bigger than the average size. Definitely needs some improvements.

A really lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Good, honest and tasty pub food and great drinks on offer.We stayed in the family room which was immaculate. The beds are really comfortable with a good shower and a large living area. For somewhere to stay with easy access to local amenities, Cannock Chase and a great local pub this is great. The staff and owner couldn’t be more helpful and friendly.Lovely place, no pretentiousness just a lovely local with a great place to stay at a brilliant price.
