The Saxon Penny in Lichfield

Group of eight of us had Easter Sunday lunch here. Everyone really enjoyed the food and the customer service was brilliant. We were well looked after. The pub itself has just reopened and it looks great, very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Dog friendly too. Will be visiting again soon. Thanks for a lovely day. 😍👍

Popped in on the off chance to get a table and was very lucky to get one as it was Bank Holiday Monday. The food was just amazing especially the Fish and Chips and the Chocolate Brownie Sundae !!!! Think we have found our new go to Restaurant!! Many thanks again for a wonderful experience

March 2022 Just had a lovely meal in the Inkwell at Litchfield. Nice place with an excellent outdoor area. Great place to sit outside on a sunny day. All four meals were excellent and the staff very pleasant and professional. We will visit again when in the area.

First time eating having enjoyed drinks previously. Food was very good. Well presented and good quality. Price was also very reasonable. Service was efficient and polite. Surrounding are much improved following refurbishment. Feels like we at last have a great local!

We brought an elderly relative for a meal. We were able to use a disabled parking space, and were pleased that there was easy access to the table. The service was good, the food was a little slow arriving but very nicely presented, and very good value. We are already planning another visit.

There was 11 of us that came for a family birthday meal and it was a fantastic afternoon!!The food all came out together and was lovely and hot, I had the Sunday roast (pork) and I can honestly say it was one of the best Sunday lunches I have had in a long time.Our waitress Millie was amazing, any time we needed anything it was no problem and she kept us topped up with drinks when we needed them.I would definitely recommend this pub, it has such a lovely atmosphere!!

Nice clean pub, food was cooked perfect and staff friendly but if your hoping for a quite meal it's not here... kids running around dogs barking and slow service let our late valentines meal down.

2nd visit since the very smart refurbishment and change of name. Both times we turned up on spec without booking. On both occasions , front of house very accommodating. Today, even though there were just four of us, he gave us a table that was for 6 in an area at the rear that was like our own private dining room (table 4). The service was friendly and attentive, the food great and so we rate the whole experience excellent value for money.

Popped in for a quick lunch and drink, not bad if you are looking for a middle of the road chainy pub lunch , menu was pretty limited, Staff were friendly and helpful however we did have to wait around at the bar for awhile to get served.

Came here after the Lichfield Christmas lights turn on, lovely atmosphere. Only downside was the service was quite slow, we waited over an hour for our mains. The food was delicious when it arrived though and all the staff were friendly too. Had Argentine prawns to start, all the meals were really well presented also.
