4 went to the Whittington Arms yesterday for lunch. What a delightful experience. Food was excellent with a very good choice - not the cheapest but nicely cooked and well presented. Our waitress Lucy was a joy.My husband (83) is on a restricted diet and had a childs meal. Lucy also gave him the crayons to colour the picture on the back of his menu. Will definitely visit again.

Great service! Food was a bit slow but it was busy and they had a new chef in do I imagine things will only get faster. Really friendly staff and lovely drinks.

Great food, super service, beautiful restaurant, well worth the money! We had feta prawns and sticky chicken to start - flavours were amazing, fillet steak and lamb rack for mains - both cooked to perfection. Timings of food was spot on as it gave us time to let the previous course go down without leaving us waiting ages.Eleigh and Grace were very attentive and made us feel very comfortable, thanks Whittington Arms!

Four of us had lunch today. One member of the party and myself had the king prawn and crab fishcakes and both of us noticed the distinct absence of fish. I found one piece of prawn, but my friend was lucky enough to find one piece of prawn and one piece of crab. Another member of our table was also disappointed with the quality of the fish in his order of fish and chips - it was thin tail pieces.I commented to the waitress about the fishcakes containing hardly any fish. She said she'd never heard that before and that perhaps it's just today's batch. Not a very satisfactory response. We've noted the response from the Whittington Arms but we will not take up the offer to get in touch as we (and our friends who were with us) have decided not to darken their door again. There are too many GOOD places to eat elsewhere. Looking at other recent reviews in other places too they seem to have lost the plot and no doubt other customers than ourselves. I hope this is a wake up call for them.

This is one of our local pubs and we have a great experience whenever we come here. The only downfall the last couple of times is lack of certain dishes on the menu. And it’s not any dish, it seems to be the main dish most people would go for.Over Christmas we booked the festive menu with the chocolate bomb dessert. We got there and they said they didn’t have any more left. This was at 3pm on a Sunday. The second time we went at 2pm on a Sunday for a roast . No roast beef left! Probably the most popular dish for a Sunday roast but none left! Quite disappointing as usually this is a great place for food. Might be worth ringing them beforehand if you’re after something specific on the menu.

A nice upmarket country pub. Very comfortable large interior bar and restaurant. Outside space has open country views. Menu has plenty of choice. It's a family favourite we eat at the Whittington Arms quite often.

We came during a midweek evening whilst it was fairly quiet. We had plenty of choice so chose to sit by the log fire. Food was really nice, staff were friendly and chatty. All round a really nice experience here.

Setting was beautiful and made Christmas Day even more magical. Food was tasty and the portions were very generous. Service however was not as great. Staff seemed to be under pressure and rushing around the place. Not once were we asked if we would like any more drinks or if everything was okay with the food. We would try it again but on a quieter day.

Had a lovely family meal 6 of us before the England game. Service was good, menu was fine. Very nicely furnished with some booths large enough for 6 adults. My husband and both had the crab and prawn fishcakes. We both commented on how tasty and moist they were. The chicken escalope was also very good.

Nice upmarket pub with great staff and the food was to a high standard. If you enjoy burgers the dirty burger is amazing. My parter had the steak and said it was very good.Fresh modern look with a great atmosphere
