Really nice traditional pub. Food was extremely high quality but not over priced. Some great countryside walks all around it. We went for lunch but will definitely return for dinner

Had problems on the day, first they hadn't got our booking and then it took around 75 minutes for the food to arrive after a gentle reminder.Food was lovely but their new computerized system is not, hence the 4 star not 5 and they did look after us on the bill as an apology. That being said, it is still one of the best places to eat around the area and lovely food and service.Good luck with your new system guys.

Lovely meal last night , good atmosphere there too, steak was better than I've had at some posh restaurants, only issue was 2 items from the menu that we ordered were forgotten about including the peppercorn sauce which arrived 20 minutes after the meal, but that was dealt with proffesionally and were not all perfect all the time , will most certainly be back soon , all in all a great evening

I've been dining at the windmill for the last 25 years and the food has always been lovely and good portion sizes which is great because I have such a large appetite. However me and my partner were left so disappointed this evening. The service was very slow and the hunters chicken was really over cooked with hardly any bacon and cheese and the usual 2 large chicken breasts was downsized to one small breast with hardly any chips and 2 very small onion rings. I opted for the new bang bang chicken fried noodles which lacked any flavour or sauce. Hopefully this was just a one off bad meal!!...

We visited yesterday 23rd April after coming here as a couple for 11 years. My wife ordered the Cod and was disappointed as it was mostly batter and skin with very little cod inside. The onion rings were tiny compared to what we always used to be served in this pub. We have noticed similar previous feedback from others recently so it appears there has been nothing done about this. On a positive note my Steak pie was nice although the pastry wasn't as fluffy and risen as it used to be. Overall quite a let down based on our many visits over the years before.

Used to go to this pub regular. Love the place, lovely location, great atmosphere and the food used to be amazing. However, I went there yesterday (15.4.22) and the food was diabolical. There was a different menu to usual and the food was tasteless, Chicken was overcooked. I would have been better off to go my local weather spoons. I won't be going back until it changes hands again.

Customer service poor, waited over an hour for starters to arrive, I have never seen a soup starter that was set like putty before. The mains were delayed and servings did not come out together, this is basic hospitality & service. Just to add, I don’t usually complain, I felt I had to warn others and save them the time and money.

Food spot on as ever... chap behind the bar knowledgeable about the ales and selection..Slight confusion over my table booking as they had booked me in under another name for some reason.. was as busy as ever so good sign the quality still there ..Craig

Been eating here for many years however, went Saturday night was the worst meal we ever had from there. The steak was tastless I covered it with sauce, chips were cold and onion rings chewy not the usual crispy tasty ones. However the icing on the cake was ordering a pudding, chasing it after waiting 30 minutes waiting another 10 as they obviously forgot to have cheese cake which had curdled. Could not wait to leave we told the bar staff as we left just to get a quick apology and thanked us for telling her. My partner then started being sick early hours of morning. Very disappointed won't be going again
