Set up of the space was fantastic, outstanding food, was little disappointed by the service. But well worth the visit

Excellent food served in an attractive setting with friendly staff. The menu is small and changes to make the best use of seasonal and local ingredients, including produce from the garden, which you can walk around. The small shop has some interesting items, some produced on site. The dishes are interesting, beautifully cooked and our lunch last Sunday had an outstanding pudding. I absolutely love the small, light loaves with the yeast butter.

Absolutely outstanding meal with amazing variety of tastes and use of ingredients. Venue and interior is wonderful, especially the small number of covers and subsequent attention to detail from the Pensons team. Shout out to the in-house sommelier who is a master of his craft with visible passion for his role in creating the perfect compliment to the excellent food. One of the best meals I have ever eaten. Just book.

Wonderful meal, lovely building, attentive but not intrusive service, what more could you want! We started with a drink sitting in the courtyard enjoying the sunshine, then had a relaxed meal and afterwards stayed in two lovely rooms. We finished off our stay with an excellent breakfast. Do take some time to walk round the kitchen garden and to look at the local crafts in the small shop. Overall a fantastic experience!

Loved it. Loved the food, loved the ethos behind the whole experience. The rooms we stayed in were gorgeous. We were looked after by very a attentive team who were not in your face but went about delivering a very thought out experience. Myself and my wife will be going back.

Absolutely superb. The staff are amazing and personable, all dishes were put together with care and ingredients matched perfectly. Just stunning. Cannot wait to return again.

Great meal. Absolutely delicious - from the whipped, Parmesan topped butter to savory to desserts to chocolates and wine.Gluten free bread not in line with the caliber of the restaurant.Staff very friendly, but some of the servers needed a bit more training.

Nice welcome on arrival, lovely restaurant, mushroom starter was outstanding, monkfish main was equally as good, however sadly the venison did not live up to expectation, it was very tough and difficult to chew, manager apologetic and the dish was replaced with monkfish. Quite a wait resulting in having to eat alone. Desert was nice but not to my taste. Overall the experience was good ,will probably go back.

From start to finish outstanding! For context - we stayed overnight for our anniversary! The welcome was lovely - we were greeted by a lovely lady who was incredibly enthusiastic who showed us to our room where we were greeted with a personal message wishing us a happy anniversary. The room was beautiful. It opens up straight onto the courts yard. The shower is immense and I am going to email to find out where they buy their beds as soon as I have finished their review. The drinks were beautiful and a nice range. Highly recommend the cocktails. We had the 5 course taster menu with the wine flight. Would highly recommend the wine flight with your meal as complimented the food perfectly and the insight from the sommelier was really educational and added to the experience massively. Every course was sensational! After a fantastic night sleep we had the best breakfast with the best service. Nothing was too much trouble. Would totally recommend and we will be returning later in the year.
