Aneesa Balti Cottage in Newcastle-under-Lyme

Food and service are excellent.

We used to enjoy coming to The Salimar, but it seems that they have changed from serving the food in decent crockery to serving everything as a Balti in a Balti dish. I don't want my Rogan Josh as a Balti.

Been there wen its was on the corner by the church v good but by far the worst curry ive had in yrs , and getting worst this review is base on giving them plenty of chances because of the above will not be eating there again based on v poor food. service has never been bad

Stunning restaurant. Extensive menu. Food was delicious. Staff were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable when asked about specific dishes on the menu. Recommend 100%

I'm reading some of these previous negative reviews and thinking do people actually know what an actual traditional curry should look and taste like.....Shalimar have been in the business a very long time and its an experience like no other from the time you walk in till you exit the premises. Its a family owned business with family like virtues & traditions. They make you feel like family. The food is brilliant....5 stars for me all day long !! Give them a try!

Shalimar is the best curry place I've been to in Stoke on trent,I travel from Birmingham to Stoke just for a shalimar curry,the service is brilliant,deco,hygiene everything is bang on,I don't have a single complaint. Not to forget the boss and his Mrs they are top people always looking after us and very welcoming

A few years ago this curry house and service was amazing after approximately 4 deliveries the food delivered became sub standard and cold. Three weeks ago we decided to try again where we had two weeks of fabulous hot fresh food delivered. Tonight we have ordered again only to be disappointed with dry chicken in our balti, cold chips and rice and hard cold naan bread. To say I am gutted is an understatement but will never order from shalimar again.

Not a lover of the food here, although I have only been the once. I got a curry and a nan bread to take away, there was only a couple of pieces of chicken and a lot of lumpy gravey with no particular taste. To be fair the nan bread was huge and I got a free papudom but it wasn't enough to compensate for the disappointment of my meal.

Not eaten in but have had a couple of deliveries and the food came within an hour each time and nice and hot. Portion size is good and the naans are big. Overall a good meal at a good price and will continue to use the place for deliveries.
