Sheet Anchor in Newcastle-under-Lyme

Had lunch here last week. Delicious steak sandwich and a glass of really good wine. Service was excellent. It does get really busy evenings and weekends, so you would need to book.

We went for my fiancés birthday and when I booked I selected it was for a special occasion/birthday. When we arrived the staff couldn’t of been any more welcoming and as we got to our table we were greeted with a birthday card from the staff which was a lovely touch! The food was drool worthy and we had more than a generous amount.Our server (didn’t catch his name) was lovely and kept popping over to ask if everything was okay, if we needed anything else etc.The place is stunning and there’s such a lovely atmosphere, we will definitely be returning :)

Wow, my new favourite place. Great food, great service and good prices. Another visit and another great meal. The reviews really seem to help as the staff were happy, attentive and a review PDA was delivered with the bill so eager to please with the option of tips at checkout.

Blockhouse was recommended by a friend and with delight i really enjoyed the meal also all the family really enjoyed their's. The menu has a fabulous choice of steaks. The restaurant area is very clean with a nice modern look and a lovely hot open fire. The staff were all really helpful, happy and friendly. Car park has plenty of parking so is great for the larger families who travel separately. Will definitely be visiting again.

Absolutely lovely restaurant. Came here from outside of area to meet a friend for lunch mid way between where we live so had no idea what to expect. Decor was really inviting, warming and well decorated and the food was incredible, so tasty and so much for the money so really good value for money too.. I couldn't fit in dessert this time but already have our next visit planned to go there again where I will make sure i keep room for dessert!

We ordered a drink at the bar while we waited for our table to be prepared, and they were absolutely amazing! A dark cherry mojito and a toblerone old fashioned ❤️ Ordered a ribs/prawns sharing starter and there were no potato skins left but we were asled if we wanted to sub with chicken strippers and glad we did. Mains were just as impressive (chicken caeser salad, block & roll hotdog and chilli brisket fries) but we barely touched them due to being almost full from the starter, so we brought them home in takeaway boxes. Couple of strange service moments where we were brought 2 of the same drinks instead of 1, and told by a waitress that if the cocktail wasn't on the paper menu they didnt have it, despite being advised earlier by the barman to check the full menu online (and they did in fact have the cocktail i had ordered!) We had a lovely night and spent 2.5hrs enjoying our meal and drinks

This place is brilliant. I was taken aback at the effort they have gone to to give it a real smokehouse vibe.The staff were fantastic. We had a large party sitting down with a 1 year old and they gave us a good space and we're extremely helpful with the baby.The menu has everything you want from a grill place, steak, chicken, burger, ribs, fries.... what more can you want. My wife is vegetarian but there was plenty for her also like a mushroom and halloumi burger.There is a really good choice of burgers on the menu but not too much you don't know what to have!The food itself was cracking. Exactly what we expected. This is a solid choice for any meat eater! Hopefully the photos do it justice!

Ask for Sophie to be your waitress... she is an absolutely beautiful person and top class at her job role. She can not do enough for you & helps you with recommendations suited to your likes. The restaurant on is own is industrial architecture, show stopping with features that inspire, the menu is really something to think about with all its mouth watering choices, the prices are true as the saying "you get what you pay for" we had a bottle of wine, 3 beers, 3 courses x 2 for £103 excluding tip. The rest rooms are something you would visualise in places like Dubai. We cannot recommend this venue enough. Fit for any Queen. Thank you 😊 see you again. #wearefromwestwales

Service and Atmosphere amazing! The food was absolutely out of this world! This place serves the best chicken schitznel I have possibly ever experienced in my life. The mushroom sauce is the creamiest thing I have ever tasted! The cajun onion rings are also so tasty to order as a side dish. The cocktails are so good and they will order what is available on the online menu as well as what is on the drink menu in venue. Cannot wait to return. Literally counting down to our next booking!

We came here for the first time last night for my 23rd birthday and all I can say is wow! The food is some of the best food I’ve ever tasted, such amazing flavours and portions were huge! We couldn’t eat all of the nachos so the staff kindly boxed them up for us. The staff were really friendly and made sure our experience for my birthday (including bringing out a cake with candles) was the best it could be. We will 100% be coming again!
