Went only for a drink with my husband. A proper British pub! The atmosphere was brilliant as some people were singing and were having fun.

A nice little pub with very loud music. The beer is good and very competitively priced, they even offer CAMRA discount of 10% - the only pub in the area that I've found which does. They sometimes have food menus out, however I've never seen anybody eating.

We don't drink any more so we don't use the place any more .but as far as the pub it self goes . I met my lovely wife in there & all my friends still use the place . It's a real man's pub. The main pub of the town at one time . But now it's just a good pub to be in.

Great food and great atmosphere. Went midday and had the southern fried chicken burger with chips and other had the all day breakfast. Average prices and quality food. Whilst finishing our meal they held a bingo event, good add on. Great Meal.

The Golden Lion has always been a friendly pub. It used to busy when the markets were on and stall holders and other clients used to fill it up in the day time. The market has nearly disappeared but is a nice pub

Absolute dive. The toilets stink of 3 year old urine and they actually get away with serving food somehow. The beer prices are ridiculous for a small pub compared to what it used to be and the bar staff are a joke really. They serve the regulars before anyone even if u have been clearly waiting 5 minutes before anyone else. Avoid unless ur 60
