Great Friday Fish and Chips for an amazing price and quality. After a morning out walking a perfect place for a rest stop. Good selection of beers and the welcome is warm and the value for money well.worth a visit, we will be coming back.As an update we went there for the recently opened breakfast menu and was not disappointed, a.good choice with value for money and quality produce. Also a thanks to Jordan who is always helpful and polite, a credit to the team.

Food was nice, but initially I ordered a double beyond meat burger and was given bean burgers instead.Either they don't know what beyond meat means, or they were trying to pull a fast one.Doesn't matter to me, since I'm not actually vegan and just switched to a chicken burger that was delicious, but false advertising irks me, so they only get 3 stars.

went with 2 other couples meals were nice but asked for for cod and actually received whiting we think, not cooked very well so 2 meals were returned but staff were very apologetic and understanding and refunded money no questions asked

Have new menu from today, so will be going to sample that soon. Food was good, service very friendly. Met Dave the 2nd chef. Nice bloke.

I went there last night. No ale left. Ordered fish and chips. The chips were so bad, they should have gone into the bin, but instead they served it. Waste of money. To the manager, please fix the door to the gent's WC. It is a joke, each time someone walks in or out, the door is slamming. A door stopper is about £12. People are going there to have a nice peaceful drink, not to listen your door slamming every couple of minutes. To the chef: please do not serve the food if it is not good enough for yourself to eat. Your fancy lights outside the building is not going to bring people back. Good beer, good food, good service will....!Also, I have noticed that she kept changing the little strainer at the end of beer tabs from one tab to an other. Then pulled the beer. The same lady was cleaning the tables and handling cash. Where she kept touching was going into my beer. That is low hygiene standard. For god sake little plastic strainer cant be more than couple of pounds, possibly the brewery would provide it free. Get one and stop touching the tabs with your hands.

Normally OK. Service was good. Very very long wait for food. We were told 30 to 45 minutes. That estimate increased to over an hour. Also the burgers didn't seem as good as they did 2 years ago

Good value for money. We used a table that was booked for 6pm. As it was only 330pm and we left by 5pm so no problem caused....other customers seemed to see the Reserved signs and leave. It's worth checking with staff about using a reserved table as long as you vacate in good time for the booking.

Good food although the service was a bit slow due to the number of people who were having a meal Will be going again

I visit The Potters Wheel on a regular basis, I've never had any reason to complain. The staff are always friendly and accommodating, the food is usually very good for a pub meal. However, on this visit I upgraded my steak as part of my surf and turf meal. The steak was cooked to my liking but the steak was that fatty and full of gristle that I could hardly eat any of it. Paying extra for the steak, I expected a better quality one, not one worse than I usually pay less for. I told the gentleman who collected our plates at the end of the meal who said he'd inform the chef. Unfortunately I wasn't offered anything as an apology. I will reconsider upgrading next time.
