A great place for book lovers or just to look round.The tea room is very popular. A great place to meet. A lovely selection of cakes, or for more filling meals the hot snacks menu is substantial. We had the hot pork batch (or roll, cob or bap depending on where you come from) with stuffing,apple sauce,gravy and roast potatoes squares, all served on a wooden skillet in separate containers.The cost £8.99 but adequate enough that we had to have our slices of cake in a carry out box.

Beautiful location in the middle of the countryside, this place offers a perfect way to switch off and enjoy the company of friends or just rummage to find few good books to take home. The Cafe menu is somewhat limited but the food is good and the drinks delicious. We loved our tea and yummy cake in the colourful garden!

Great book barn, plenty of opportunity to browse, or sit and talk books over coffee and cake. Quirky.

Had such a lovely afternoon lunch at book farm. Staff are friendly and the food is delicious and well presented. You can choose to either eat inside near a fire or outside in the sun and fresh air. It's also dog friendly out in the garden area which is a bonus.

Interesting place to visit. Room go on and on, full of books and cosy seating to read. Yurt outside is warm and comfortable if you want to dine in there if the cafe is too full. Cafe serves lovely snacks, cakes, hot and cold drinks and I am impressed and glad to find somewhere at last that served gluten and dairy free options. Outside seating too which is great for the summer.Will certainly go again and will bring my partner who loves to read.A great day out and highly recommended for literary enthusiasts and book worms.

This place is a delight! We visited for the first time recently and were welcomed in straight away by the very friendly staff member. My husband asked if there were any Biggles books in stock and by the time we had looked round, the lady had found a selection of books for him. The cafe was lovely and again, service was excellent. It is refreshing to visit a place where the staff really care about the visitor's experience. We will definitely be back!

Amazing place. Books and more books, but even better coffee, cakes and books. A perfect mix, a lovely lovely place. Dogs are allowed in the court yard, which is great if you're popping for a coffee. It was my pitstop in between work stops and I had a much needed toasted teacake and a little quiet down time before my next appointment. Highly recommended.

The cafe is wonderful. Great selection, generous portions, good prices, courteous, helpful staff, convenient table options and accessible car park.It's limited by the characteristics of the period building, despite interesting decor, and I've knocked a star off. But if you like this sort of character and quirkiness, it's worth 6 stars.

What a quirky place. A bookstore on a farm with a large cafe? I have to hand it to the owners of Astley Book Farm & Coffee Shop. You have a unique experience here that will intrigue others when described to them.Firstly, the farm. Yep, there is not a lot to it. The lane that leads to the Book Farm is pedestrian at worst. I was able to navigate it without having to get off my race bike.Once at the Farm House I noticed the car park was packed, but there weren't any people around. The wooden, latched entrance is clearly marked with amusing signs. These signs are found throughout Astley Book Farm & Coffee Shop.Opening the door reveals what looks like a library. In the distance there is a hustle and bustle. That's the cafe. The decor is floor to ceiling much in line with what it was originally, an old wooden barn. Grab one of many available tables, take a look at the menu and head to the checkout. There you will find a fine arrangement of traditional cakes.I, as I normally do, ordered a flat white with oat milk. It was great to see the availability of dairy alternatives at no extra cost. Be warned though, the coffee is expensive at £3.50. I can't comment on the food. From taking a look around, the bacon and sausage sandwiches were a winner. The food that took my fancy was the chocolate bread and butter pudding, available with cream, custard or ice cream. It looked delicious.Astley Book Farm & Coffee Shop also cooks "artisan" pizzas, sausage rolls and other bread based deli style dishes. Definitely worth a look if you're in the area.
