Went for a drink and to see some live music ! There where quite a few of us, the glasses where dirty full of lipstick and filth.Toilets smelt so bad ! Really off putting !!Staff are rude and don’t have a clue what they are doing !On the plus side I got charged £6 for 4 drinks and some peanuts because the staff weren’t paying attention ..never going again ..EDIT ;Seems the manager can’t take criticism!!We were sat outside with the live music there was about 12 of us lolDefinitely had a miserable face on with the smell of those toilets 🤣😎thanks again

Worst meal ever lots to offer but no delivery.Me and my partner tried to have a romantic meal for our anniversary and it couldn't have been any worse. We turned up and was told to sit on a dirty table, to which we complained straight away. We were then asked to wait in the bar for 30 minutes for a clean table. Finally we were seated, then not given any menus. We waited another 15 minute then I finally asked for a menu. After the wait time on ordering, we only ordered a main meal, I ordered a sirloin steak and salad which was very over cooked and the salad was wilted like it had been sat under the light for age's. My partner order fish and chips which I could have bought better quality from asdas cafe.Very disappointed in the customer service we received, the worst place we have ever been to and completely ruined our anniversary meal.Definitely would not return to this place as I would never spend any more of my money there. On the plus side the decor of the restaurant was quite nice, shame about the food.

Sunday lunch, food nice but green beans a little too al-dente. Service, good and intimately friendly, which was quirky but fun. The wine ordered from menu was different from the bottle presented, no mention which is not ideal but as the wine was decent we just rolled with it. Best to apologise and ask if the replacement is acceptable. Also, ordered bottled water, initially tap arrived in a jug but pointed out we ordered bottles of still but turned out they only had sparkling! We had that instead not being keen on tap. Nice room but we felt a bit lost in it as only 2 other tables were taken, that said it was a 12.15 sitting. Car park is naff and needs resurfacing, toilets need an overhaul. So, rough edges but enjoyed the food.

Tonight me and my family went to the Horse and Jockey for a meal, table of 5.We were seated and given menus very fast. We then had to ask for our order to be taken as the waitress had walked past our table several times, we eventually ordered starters and mains. We waited over 25 minutes for our starters which were average. We then had to go to the bar to order drinks and ask for our empty plates to be removed as the restaurant service was NIL, the plates had been empty for over 10 minutes, i wouldnt mind waiting but there was one other table of 3 there. After waiting a further 20 minutes we were given our steaks, which the side order were missing (eventually brought out when the meal was nearly finished). One steak was over cooked and sent back, not wanted to wait for another one due to previous waiting times, we decided not to have a replacement and another steak was 85% fat which also couldnt be eaten. We asked for a quiet word regarding the steaks, the manager was very rude and abrupt. He was not willing to acknowledge that there was an issue with our meals. I asked if he could remove them off the bill as they were uneaten, he just simply responded no and then snatched away the plates of the other guests on our table who were still eating along with the side dishes they had just received.Never again!Kind Regards your boy Lewis

Disappointing visit. Booked a table for 13, pre ordered food yet when our food arrived, 1 of our parties food didn't arrive for over 30mins until everyone had eaten. No sauces offered, not enough cutlery given. Upon receiving the receipt, £30 service charge was added to the bill secretly which wasn't accounted for. Waitress was smirking in the corner whilst we calculated the items on the receipt until we noticed the service charge which had been added on, and once realised she dismissed it and said it was fine to not pay it. When we complained they stated it was a till error as service charges has never existed. Typical staff pocketing money. Awful service, mediocre food and staff, definitely won't be back...EDIT... If service charges were not added on then how come it was detailed on the receipt, and once confronted when all our calculations were correct, why did she suddenly tell us to leave it. I can add a photo of the receipt as proof if you wish?!!!!!!!! Alarm bells should have rang when only 2 tables were booked for food for the entire evening 🤔

Lovely pub with great beer garden! Friendly bar staff and decent food. Had a steak ciabatta 👌👌

Loved the open roof space and feel of the pub, loved the shelf of toiletries in the bathroom, great details. We had just a snack, a sharer between us. All the usual suspects on the plate, a nice range of food. 4 breaded mushrooms, 4 onion rings, 4 mozzarella cheese sticks, 4 pieces of chicken however only 2 prawns and 2 of the smallest pieces of garlic bread. All very obviously frozen as is at most places and deep-fried. Tiny green salad leaf garnish and slices of fridge dry cucumber. Not sure how much it cost. The customer service was very good, friendly, smiling and helpful, disappeared after food was served, no table check or deserts or more drinks offered. Would I recommend it, no, will we go back, probably not, did we enjoy it sadly no, was it food yes. Could be a great pub, loads of space and massive potential. Looks like the kind of place where you want to sit by the fire and eat, drink and cuddle your loved one. We really wanted it to be that. They have camping and small outdoor events like a classic car meeting which shows the potential for great business acumen however the quality was lost on the food, presentation and lack of follow through on the customer service.

Turned up on a cider festival, place was packed. Had their famous carvery, plain, simple, not over cooked and fresh. Service was very welcomed by our lovely, short hostess. Brilliant.Have returned several times and it's always great service and meals

Popped in for Sunday lunch as on our walking route. A warm welcome, friendly staff and excellent value roast including a great veggie option. Will definitely be back.

Meal for a party of eight last Saturday was absolutely well worth the booking. We were seated very well and attended to by polite, friendly staff. We waited a little while for the meal but there was a large party in an adjacent room at the same time. However the wait was not unreasonable and the food was worth the wait. There were no errors over the food ordered and the whole visit was as nice as previous visits. We will happily return and thankyou.
