Fabulous service and afternoon tea. Thanks to all staff involved. Definitely will be going back.

Good sized carpark, wonderful inside with lots of quirky statues, ornaments, pictures and seating. And set in lovely countryside with water nearby. My friend and I had afternoon tea with sandwiches, cake and tea/coffee. Four good portions of cake each that was lovely and moist and rather delicious.

Three ladies for afternoon tea were seated and served food on a single two tier cake stand: one round of brown bread cut into three fingers (crust off) of ham and tomato, egg and cress, slivers of salmon, and one round of white bread of grated cheese and ploughmans pickle. Cake consisted of three jam tarts, three Mr Kipling small fancies, a small slice of red velvet cake and a fruit scone. All were shop bought and I could have served this up at home and for far cheaper. Poor service meant we had to wait to call the waitress over to request butter and another pot of tea. I was taken out as a treat - which of course it wasn't.

Booked afternoon tea. Waitress lovely but the food terrible. Insufficient amount of sandwiches, the cakes awful and definitely not home made. Did complain and got more revolting cakes and 3 bits of finger food. They said no one else has ever complained. I said unlikely. Will not be returning

Had the most beautiful afternoon tea, fabulous food, lovely atmosphere and ambience, Vicky and Peter were amazing, nothing too much trouble. Our friends 60th birthday, they allowed us to go early to take balloons, provided us with table cloths all ready for us to place sprinkles and favors on the table, very helpful and attentive and no rush for us to leave. Highly recommended and we will visit again quite soon. Just want to thank them for an amazing and fabulous afternoon

So we arrived at 1825 for our booking at 1830 for me, my wife, my daugher and a friend of ours.We were greeted, if you can call it being greeted by a gentleman who didn't ask even if we wanted a highchair, just put menus on our table and walked off.A young lady then came to take our order for drinks where we ordered and asked for a highchair.Drinks arrived no highchair. In the next 25 mins we got asked 3 times if we are ready to order and all 3 times we said no, we are still waiting for a highchair. Eventually after 25 mins we spotted a table leave who had finished with a highchair, went and grabbed it, cleaned it off and used it.When the same gent that sat us came over to take out order he said he was just abiut to get one for us so we responded we had been waiting 25 mins we just found one ourselves.Ordered food and that was that.Starters, 2 pate and a mozzarella sticks for my daughter. Pate was really nice and mozzarella stick were OK. Happy days we thought.Starters cleared, no options for another drink, didn't even get a chance to ask before the waitress vanished.Mains arrived and this is where all the fun started. My wife ordered the pork tomahawk. Cut in half to serve and overcooked, she did say the potato was nice though. Our friend who ordered the burger said it was OK.My daughters fish looked really good. Thankfully she is of an age where we have to feed her as every bit of fish we picked up contained pin bones from where the fish had been badly prepared. My mixed grill. Going to be honest I've had better ones at weatherspoons.....All of it massively overcooked. Gammon was black on one side and not the other. Rump, supposd to be rare was medium, egg overdone, lamb chop looked like a bit of bacon that's been left on the grill for ages and was unrecognisable as a lamb chop. Once the meat was removed from the bone there was a piece about the same size and thickness of a £2 coin. Sausage was ok. The tomato and chips were the best part.By this part it was 2015......Was not checked during the meal and we only ate it as we had to get our daughter to bed and we had been on the road most of the day and needed our beds. When speaking to waitress explaining the issue's we had she went to management and explained amd they came over.In the end they took the child's meal off and half my grill. I have been in touch over email with them before writing this and their response for horrendous service, overcooked food and lack of care going into the preparation of the child's meal is"I have been advised that the bill was discounted on the day , the goujons removed and the mixed grill discounted. If this was not satisfactory at the time, then it was your right to dispute the level of compensation offered. As this was not the case , we would not be looking offer any further compensation."I'm not going to stand there and complain about the service when they had a large function going on in the next room. I have also been advised that jt was the manager who sat us and was supposed to find us a high chair. Great example that sets.I'm not one for posting bad reviews as you will see if you look at my ither ones but if they are unwilling to admit the service they offered on the evening is not of a level expected for a near £100 bill then I'll visit other establishments when in the area again

Went for afternoon tea with a Groupon voucher and found it really worth the full price. The most delicious scones, cakes and sandwiches I've ever had. Pimm's were a nice complement as well. The place is very beautiful and has a lake with paddle boats. The cherry of the cake was the restaurant's big dog who took us for a walk around the lake and sat beside myself to take a picture lol. The smell of barbecue made me want to go back with friends for a Sunday lunch.
