Pete's Chippery in Nuneaton and Bedworth

I had Chips, steak and kidney pie and curry sauce.The chips were bland and uninteresting, but would be edible with salt/sauce.Steak/Kidney pie was nice.The curry sauce was *really* awful. It looked like it had been made from powder and tasted like watered down Chinese curry sauce that had been stored in the freezer and reheated. Hands down, the worst I've ever had.I always put the sauce over the chips, and it was so bad I threw everything except the steak/kidney pie, in the bin.I always give food places I've not used before a couple of tries before I cross them off the list, so I'll go again but give the "Curry Sauce" a miss.Staff were friendly enough, the place looked nice/clean, and there's an online ordering system which I think is essential these days.Some of these other reviews look fake to me - the 1 star reviews are plain dumb.

Medium fish and chips is a rip off! TIME TO SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!Nuneaton & Bedworth premises - service quick took money first and waited for about 2 mins, got order and left and to return home to about 10 chips and a mini thin fish with thick greasy batter, this place is a rip-off the bad reviews are just that I`m afraid. It was just a very thin piece of cod with thick batter to make it look bigger served in a tray now, where before it was decent portions - bag of chips with the fish on top, in order to maintain LOW volume of chips CONSISTENTLY ie. scam, it was tasteless very thin and disappointing. £5.99 for this, wont hurry to go back there ever again. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Wouldn't cook me chicken at 1.55 had to have just chips 🙄 said they had stopped cooking...why they still open then if limited menu....was pssd off tbh

Excellent food half price on certain nights for different things each night. But the price as gone up far to much lately. For example £3.50 for a pie £1.60 for large baked beans

Used Pete's chippy tonight, wasn't impressed, the fish hardly had any fish in it and what there was of it was very dry. It was mostly all thick batter and that was very dry too. Not the best fish i've ever had.

Banging fish and chips. Half price even on a large on friday for the fish and chips. Not sure how they get such good tasting fish when you consider how far we are from the sea? Great job

Ordered 3 Aug . Chose this place over the usual due to ease of parking. Order/Wait took 40 minutes told to wait outside.Got home food stone cold , chips were just scraps and black spots on the few that were chips.Incorrect sausages put in the bag. Kebab meat was dry.Also they no longer offer the Mini fish.You can see why they need to offer 50% because no one would pay full shame as used to be an alright chippy.As others have suggested guessing ownership has changed hands.Save yourself money and spend the extra time looking for a parking spot outside chick king.

£3.79 for this? You can’t class that as a portion of chips. And half the chips were under cooked. This place is a rip off.
