Few issues.I ordered a large cod which was £7.00 and was passed off as a small cod. I stopped the server as when I asked how long for a large cod he said they are coming out in a few seconds seeing blatantly that there was one small cod sat there. I saw the server then pick up a fish and proceed to wrap it. Was he trying to pass off a small fish as a large cod? To which the server stated “look I don’t cut the fish” which I feel isn’t the best customer service. Is this the true size of their £7 large cod? Which was in comparison slightly smaller than a large battered sausage?I refused the cod and asked for a refund.Issue 2.. I was given £6.50 refund for my £7.00 large cod which I didn’t realise until I got home I was short changed. Do I go back for the 50p?Issue 3.. on the screens they stated they don’t use plastic bags to save what goes in the oceans but low and behold my kids chips and pie come in a plastic bag. I might be being finicky now but the fact is while the family is eating their food I’m sat without and am very unhappy. Is the fish over priced for this large fish? Was I being passed a small fish and lied to when I stopped the server and questioned the size? Why was I short changed,l? Who knows. Not going to give 1 star and throw my dummy out the pram so will be fair based on previous visits, but there won’t be any further visits.

Used meny times before but today very dissapionted. Large cod isn't any more, large chips aren't any more and expensive on the top. 1 star for Small cod and chips only. It won't be quick before I get back there.

Mid week treat - works order handled quick and efficient with a smile.Food (mostly) cooked fresh - Steak and Ale Pie and Spicy Spuds - yum. Fish Wrap - colleague no complaints (taste the fish not oily batter) so me next time (no batter) etc. definitley 5 stars. collected - don't know how staff can work there as smells are glorious.

What has happened to the spicy potatoes? This chippy was famous for them as were delicious, half a potato in crispy coating. The last portion we bought were tiny slices of potato....so disappointed and still very hungry 😞

Always excellent. You don't get big portions but the quality is there.

I’ve lived in Redditch for 9 years and I’ve never had anything but first class food from either of the shops. Also every single member of staff always has a smile and seem to have nice banter between themselves they even say hello out side of work if they recognise you.Note to the owner ... I’m a Black Country lad, would you consider trialing Black Country battered ‘orange’ chips maybe a couple of evenings a week . I’m sure word would really get around, there are 2 in Bromsgrove that I know of.Keep up the good workTim Kirby

Have used 3 times lately 2 times was good 1 poor waited while they completed tel orders much to long. The large cod is only small and the chips on the 3rd visit were a mush. Would not use again in case I get a bad order. They seem to busy doing orders so the customers who make the effort to visit the shop have to wait. The proprietors also don't seem to care as they don't reply to good or bad reviews. So my suggestion is try them and hope.

Dissatisfied with this place, visited twice now in the last couple of months and waited the first time for some fish to be cooked for nearly 30 minsVisited again 12th October to a wait of 25mins for some 2 pieces of halloumi to be cooked. As well as ordering 4 spicy potatoes which are now slices of potato’s insteadThe young staff chat far to much instead of concentrating on the customers.I won’t be returning

All the foods we have tried over the years was delicious , The batter is so crisp and fresh .. i love this placeprobably the best chips in the UK .. maybe this solar system ..we haven't found better and yes we've tried.Great prices and the staff are so friendly and helpful, family run and local staff who all come across as genuine.

what can i say, best fish n chips i had in a very long time, and i sometimes travel for good fish chips around Birmingham. i was in the area and had heard alot about this place online, having won a award for being voted top 10 or 5 chippys in the UK. The owner, is a nice man, very friendly and excellent customer service. He made me a fresh cod, while i waited and chips. Best cod n chips by far, noy oily or greasy, nice n cripsy, batter is bang on and pure white cod fillet, you know your getting real fresh cod. 10/10. keep up the good work. hope to be back again very soon. (there aint no place in Birmingham that even comes close to your cod n chips)
