Winyates Chippy in Redditch

Never had a bad word to say about them but got large cod and chips £9.20 and Its the size of a mini fish very disappointed

My children had this chip shop food on Saturday evening at their dad's and all got food poisoning.. they will not be eating from here again!

Ordered a Friday night takeaway tonight and it was without exaggeration The worst Friday night chip shop takeaway we’ve ever had. The chips were oily we ordered a large bag of chips and received a small we rang up to complain about this and we were refunded for the chips however the chicken mushroom pie that was ordered was Luke warm. This was our first time at this chippy and never never again.Update - my husband, son and I all felt physically sick and needed to vomit, feel better now it’s out our system will avoid this place for life

Super friendly staff and the food is great. As with some chip shops, prices may be a little higher than others, but the quality more than reflects this. Amazing 5/5

Smaller portions, and just OK, My son and I have been reviewing and scoring local chip shops as part of a home learning project, unfortunately, Winyates is losing out on both portion size, regular chips weighed over 100 grams lighter than Matchborough (its sister shop) and our taste / enjoyment score was 3 points behind Matchborough and 6 behind our current leader!Price wise, only slightly above our current average.Although we pre ordered for 20:00 (we were right on time) on our last visit and we're only 5 mins away, the meal was not hot when we got it home! We know life is not normal and trying to prepare ordered meals as well as walk in orders must be very hard right now, but perhaps small orders could be kept in the counter and not wrapped in advance?Certainly not the worst chippy around and very popular.Our review order is ~ Regular chips with S & V ~ Regular fish no S & V ~ Regular curry sauce

Quality is good but ordered through deliveroo as had a drink and my order was not complete. Rang direct and was asked to go up and collect the missing which defeated the reason I ordered as a delivery. Told to ring deliveroo and now I can only get the credit back if I order again. Not worth the hassle.

Chips were greasy. Fish like cotton wool... Dry. And batter on fish tasteless. Only thing I enjoyed was the peas. Matchbotough chippy much better but was closed tonight

I am really disappointed. I have been ordering from this place several times but this time I was really surprised (in negative way). I have ordered two, large cods. When the food was delivered fish was of a micro size. Quite expensive tiny food.

Popped in on a Saturday evening, got told not enough doner meat for ny order but person behind in queue was offered a doner wrap. Took doner wrap as alternative and portion size was laughable and they charged me £3.80 for the pleasure, will not be returning, will order in from now

Live in the area and would honestly prefer many other chip shops to it, absolutely lovely staff who greet everyone and are very apologetic if what you order has ran out but will immediately cook something fresh if asked.My main complaint is the chips themselves, you can more often than not taste the oil more than the chips. Just so greasy. I'd buy my sausage or fish here then pop next door for chips from the chinese takeaway.
