Visited this pub with some friends and enjoyed a lovely meal. Food was very good and service professional but not friendly. However on leaving the pub I discovered my car had been broken into along with another customers. Window was smashed and belongings taken. Whilst reporting it to the police they requested I ask the pub if they had any CCTV to which the manager was rather rude when he said they hadn’t. The staff didn’t seem to care about what had gone on in the car park. Looking back on reviews when I returned home it appears that this pub has a problem with this sort of thing as others have had the same experience. Would certainly recommend the place for a great meal but would advise anyone not to take your car! customer service could be improved!

NO DOGS allowed! This is an eatery not a pub if you have dogs your only option is the garden. Otherwise service is friendly and welcoming with good beer selection, just would have been handy to know about in advance if your on a canal boat and don’t know the area.

We found this pub while boating through Ansty, and it is a great place to stop for a meal. We had a warm welcome, the menu is extensive and reasonably priced. The service and food were good.And - they had Theakstons 'Old Peculier' on draft which was an added bonus!

Had a beautiful meal at lunch time. We had the stake and mushroom pie. The pufg pastry way light and airy and the filling filled the bowl and was amazing. Very hot and a great portion size. Quick service. Will put it on my list of places to eat.

Excellent food. Had pate to start - warm bread and all homemade was delicious. Prime Sirloin for main - chips were truly a thing of beauty! Crisp and fluffy. Steak tender, peppercorn sauce generous and delicious. Highly recommended. Decent pint too - doombar and tribute on tap.
