The Old Smithy in Rugby

We came for a meal at the Old Smithy this evening and it was busy however the manager came over keep us informed on how long our food was going to be and was very pleasant. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very nice. We will definitely be back again soon.

We had never been to this pub before, we travelled from Coventry and would certainly go back. The food was absolutely beautiful. The staff are lovely and its clear customer satisfaction is high if not top of their priorities, so attentive and courteous. I'm a very fussy eater and rarely eat out but my meal was just gorgeous as was my partners.If you want a quiet peaceful meal and be able to relax then this is definitely the place to go. Absolutely lovely place.

Thought this was a decent pub but has gone shockingly down hill! Stone cold food which comes out burnt or raw ( husbands mixed grill over cooked and stone cold my chicken half raw) kids food burnt and cold as well, place is filthy, staff have huge attitude issues, no manager available to talk to, complained but refused a refund for food we couldn't eat! Don't waste your money or put your health at risk eating here!

Travelled from Nottingham in the severe winds & rain for nephews 30th birthday. Restaurant/pub is in new management and he couldn't do enough for us. Excellent food & price, lovely seating by an open fire. Free birthday drink & staff checking we were OK. Candles put on table when requested & were allowed to take the birthday cake in to eat. Would definitely visit again if in the area. I wish you & the staff well with a successful turn around to make positive changes. Regards Roberta.

We visited on Sunday afternoon around 1pm. They were quite busy but we were served straight away by a lovely team. Food was out quickly and it was the best steak I've had for a long time, exactly as ordered. Will definitely be returning!

The food is absolutely outstanding and a great value for money. My favourite place to go out for dinner over any restaurant. Daff are very helpful and friendly. Food always comes out fresh and quick. Never a disappointment! It's a must to visit if you want good food.

Went out for the wives birthday meal. Disappointed. Steaks were not cooked how we ordered them. Place looked like it needed a really good clean. Sorry but won't be back. Food was average at best. Better value for money at steam turbine

Felt a bit barren inside, really quiet with not much atmosphere.None of the staff were wearing masks, and directed a group to sit at a table that another family had just left without cleaning it. Didn't feel confident about cleanliness.Food was okay; standard pub stuff and seemed mine was microwaved, it was quite bland. A few things on the menu weren't actually available. No alternatives to milk for hot drinks, which is weird considering there are vegan options on the menu.It was okay, but I probably won't go again unless someone really wants to (which I doubt).

Lovely pub, found by chance. Meals was lovely plenty of it and great value for money. Staff friendly. It was that good we went back the next night. As my son loves his steak it's was cooked just perfect. Wasn't dry was nice and tender.As there was pokestops there we played pokemon the waitress to ask about it then come back and add us as friends on the game.Well worth a visit.

I come here regular as currently working in rugby. The food as very good with large portions and decent prices the staff are very friendly as well. I recommend the steak and chicken fajitas
