Used to be a massive fan of this place, could never fault it but for some reason on each of my last 3 visits it’s been terrible. I kept going back hoping it was a “one off” but obviously after 3 bad experiences in a row it’s now time to find a better chippy. Unfortunate and a real shame because back when they got it right it was unbeatable.

Don't think you could pile more chips / doner meat in the tray! Amazing food and very decent prices Super friendly staff, highly recommended 👌

We usually love waves but tonight the fish and chips were so greasy that the paper was soaked through and there was a pool of oil in the blue bag. I was missing 3 curry sauces which were supposed to be with the meals and one of the chicken pieces had blood in it. Not impressed!

Not much good providing good food if they can't get the orders right. Received one sausage when I ordered (and paid for) two and a kebab covered in mayonnaise when I requested chilli sauce. Very sloppy

Really great fish and chips! Very generous portions. The fish was wonderfully fresh, which is rare these days. The chips are proper hand cut chips, from proper potatoes (not the frozen types). Friendly service too! We will definitely come back.I was going to take some photos but it all got polished off before I could say “let me take some photos”!

Cod today was perfection, best bit of fish we've eaten for a long while. Cooked fresh and definitely worth the wait.Manager and staff extremely polite like they wanted our trade. We'll be back for sure

Waves has been my usual go to for gluten free fish and chips due to having Coeliac Disease. I've never become ill from having the fish and chips, until yesterday.I spend 3 hours throwing up my purchased fish and chips along with the 30 mins of waiting for my order. I feel so unwell today that I can't do my daily tasks and activities. I've had to rope in childcare to help recover!I appreciate it was a Friday and it was very busy but there's no excuses for avoiding care when preparing food for an intolerance or an allergy.Unfortunately this is a bitter sweet review as I won't be coming back and purchasing again as I cannot afford to have this happen again!I would like answers to what happened. Are you using contaminated oil cooking gluten free items when your overly busy? Did you forget it was gluten free? Was the wrong item packed? You need to take extra care with any allergies and intolerance in this day and age as people live to avoid these for reasons because they get very unwell or the fact it can kill them!To any allergy suffer or if your intolerant please bare this review in mind when ordering!

Friends came over last night for "Fish and Fizz", and one of the girls offered to grab some food on the way over...this is not our usual chippy so I wasn't sure what it would be like...Well it was delicious! The chips were like no other I've tasted, very pale in colour with a delicious but light taste! We had a calamari between us which were massive and surprisingly tasty and non chewyFish was very yummy tooThe veggies had fake fish with halloumi which was also niceHuge portions! Will definitely go again...I was so excited I didn't get any photos so will order again to rectify my reviewing error very soon :-)

Top notch stuff. The portions are huge too. So much so, I had half a chicken kebab for breakfast this morning. Their fish are superb too. The standard on which all chippies should be judged, and they pass with flying colours.
