Cake Shop in Sandwell

No stars!!!!Bought two helium balloons today (1 & 8.) Number 8 was obviously overfilled and popped within 2 minutes of leaving the shop. Manager refused to refund and made me purchase another.The second number 8 I was forced to buy also popped within 2 minutes of leaving the shop. This time my brother-in-law took it back and was provided with a new balloon without having to pay. Although, he was questioned as to whether we had children in the car!! When the third number 8 balloon was provided, the assistant stated I’ve not filled it as much this time, thus proving my point about overfilling the first balloon!!Hope they have enjoyed the £8.00 profit they have made today!!AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!!!

I've had many cakes from this shop and always been very pleased but just been to collect cake for my granddaughters birthday and I am not happy at all gave them the picture on the right and they have made picture on the left looks nothing like it even the happy birthday icing is wrong colour I asked for pink will not been ordering cake from there again

I’ve always ordered from Cake Box branches which are a lot more professional. I used to use The Cake Shop (different to Cake Box) back in time well before the Cake Box branches came out & soon stopped using Cake Shop as even back then they were not as good. However I tried this branch again because they were local to me but again they’ve failed on even the most basic expectations. The girl at the counter was not capable of being behind the counter at all, I knew how to check the price for the next size up cake better than her, her order form filling was confusing for her as well.I foned in to ask if I can pick the cake up an hour later (well before their closing time) which I knew wasn’t a problem myself but I was just being polite, & she had to check with someone else when its common sense that as long as its picked up before the closing time its not a problem.On picking the cake up a different lady holds the cake close enough to her face height & asks me “are you happy with that?” I requested for the cake to be lowered so that I can check it properly.She then boxed it up & just hands it over to me & I had to request for a carrier bag which is when she said “10 pence”. I think they should increase 50 pence on every cake (which customers will gladly pay) & supply free bags regardless.I still thought I will keep the review good but however when we cut & ate the cake the lower part of the sponge was definitely not fresh. It was little harder than what a fresh would taste & feel like. Additionally the cream was fresh but the one from Cake Box tastes a lot better. It tasted like they’ve just used the whipped cream available in spray cans from Asda/Tescos (but not sure on this). My little one lives on cakes, sweets & chocolates & surprisingly he only had a few bites & said he doesn’t like it. Oh it was his birthday by the way so more or less ruined for him.Back to The Cake Box on the next one & “never” The Cake Shop for us. But thanks for the cake anyway Cake Shop guys.

Cake was way different to picture shown on there add can’t speak English properly spoilt my daughters birthday cake. Used chocolate in the writing when picture shows red on there websiteWhen I did ask why she said we only have chocolate. Rude staff can’t even apologise.

Quite simply the best fresh cream cakes I've ever had. You cannot tell if the are eggless or not. A great treat every now and then. Lovely presentation in the shop, very clean and tidy and nice packaging.

No doubt the cakes are yummy, however the staff on couple of occasions have been very rude, therefore I will not be putting my money into this branch, as the customer service is very unprofessional. The ladies that work here are very rude in the way they speak. This has happened to me three times in two months. The staff in the other branches are very professional and very pleasant.

I ordered Oreo birthday cake for my sons 4th birthday, it was the best cake we have had, it was really delicious. The ladies were really lovely, thank you will be definitely going there from now on

I have been buying Cakes from Cake Shop for a very long time. However I'm very disappointed with the service the staff have provided in the Oldbury branch. Very unprofessional staff, some of them need training on their customer services skills.

Ordered lastminute.com as always!! But was delivered the ultimate customer service experience. The sales assistant was attentive, she was able the offer the a cake that met our dietary requirements. It looked and tasted delicious #chocolicious #strawberries
