Casa Mia in Sandwell

My first time here. My partner has been twice and raved how good the food is. I had sizzling prawn in garlic and butter with olives my partner had baked mushrooms with lamb mince chop onions, peppers and gorgonzola sauce. For mains we had duck balsamico in orange cream sauce and seabass in lemon juice and capers in white wine both came with sautee potatoes.The food is very good, can't fault it at all. Had recommendations from the waitress regarding the menu. I thought this was very useful. The only downside is they brought me my glass of rose wine with 4 ice cubes in it. I didn't ask for ice. Rose and white wine should be chilled in the fridge. The decor is a little dark inside, but I suppose it out weighs how excellent the good is. Will definitely go back!Went back for a second time. Have since changed my star rating, given that the food was very good.

Just had the weirdest experience ever! Had food music was quite loud and not Italian so was slightly off putting had our food it was OK! Sauted potatoes were overdone and very crispy! Vegetables were nice! Fish was OK but just OK! Unsure whether we'd return as been to some amazing authenntic Italian restaurants in the midlands! Then the bill come and I noticed a service charge which is normally optional but when telling my husband the cost he left the money I'd told him and I'd mistakingly not included the service charge we then left and was chased to the car park asking why we didn't leave the service charge we apologised and then proceeded to get the 5 out to hand over i was really apologetic and was told you don't have to pay if you don't want and then I thought you know what was it worth the service charge ? so said OK well we won't and then the lady told us we'll it goes to the chefs and I'm gonna have to explain why they havent had this £5 so can you give us an explanation as you've eaten the food ! eh ? We actually never ate all the food but any way ? ? I then went to say the potatoes were overdone to the point they tasted reheated the fish was ?and I was left with a barrage about the cost of fish the cost of meat we didn't order meat well if the cost of fish has gone up the menu costs should go up, She then said how was she going to explain to the staff why we didnt want to pay the service charge what reasons should she give (wta. ?) The service charge is exactly that YOU PAY FOR A SERVICE and as I was made to feel uncomfortable I felt I shouldn't have to pay and I felt that we were about to and then was kept there over 10 mins explaining about how the staff would miss out how she then had to explain it away when she was first saying it went to chefs then staff and shed have to put it in, (omg its £5 take the £5 and go) stop changing what its for and the staff chef then it was the cost of food! If and all this time she already had the 5 in her hand it was a really uncomfortable experience and we've eaten at a lot nicer restaurants for similar prices or more and never had this happen so £5 has just lost repeat customers and had a not very good review if she'd of just took it when we got it out and left it instead of trying to guilt shame and changing the reason for the cost telling us we didn't have to then we did it would of save having 2 disgruntled customers

Food was amazing, portions huge and service was great. There wasn't many people when we were there but I can imagine if it gets busy then waiting times would be a bit longer but well worth the wait

Don't know if I can say this is authentic Italian as I've been to almost everyone in the Midlands unless they don't advertise..but as another review felt the service charge should be a choice not automatically added if you go to family run italian restaurants in Stratford or Solihull you get quality fresh ingredients but no service charge its def not the ritz and not run by Italians so a little disappointing

Stunning restaurant, lovely atmosphere, super friendly staff & absolutely amazing food! Nothing but compliments to the chef. Had such a delicious dinner, everyone at the table was so happy with their meal, literally said "wow" with every bite! We'll 1000000% be back. An absolute gem in Birmingham, HIGHLY recommend to anyone!!

Beautiful food, great company I had the most amazing time, the lady that owns it was a brilliant host she made us all very welcome. I would recommend this place for great Italian food

Arrived at 6.45 pm waited 30 minutes for someone to ask if we wanted drinks. Ordered meal fillet steak medium rare. 45 minds later meal arrived,steak was well done no one came to ask how our meal was until it was time to pay. I told the waiter the steak was over cooked I hadn't eaten any of it,he returned 20 mins later with the bill and said there is a service charge on the bill you don't have to pay it.No apologies up yours mate.

The 1 star goes to the sever who greeted us and took out order. The rest went downhill from there. No point looking at the menu, because what you order is certainly not what you get, and if you inquire about your meal the manager talks over you and insists that they have been serving this meal for 25 years..and by the look of my meal, I can believe it. I ended up only having drinks but when my bill came I was told I'd ordered the food, the chef had cooked! so I would pay for it! I could go on but I will end with..Terrible customer service and just as terrible food..don't waste you money or time on this place! 😔

Lovely authentic food with lots of choice on the menu, including several vegetarian and vegan options. Food is homemade and made from fresh ingredients. Good selection of wine on the drinks menu. A nice restaurant for a romantic dinner for two, or for meeting family or friends for a special occasion.
