Island Cafe And Takeaway in Sandwell

I have been buying from Island Lounge for a while now, the quality of food and service has gone down over time. Sometimes they don't even have everything on the menu yet the order will still go through online and they don't bother to tell you. Yesterday we had ordered some rice and peas and jerk and rice and peas and curry goat. Instead of being told at the ordering point, we found out when we collected that there was no rice and peas. Instead we got very bland plain rice, and the jerk chicken with no jerk sauce in sight it was essentially plain rice and some pieces of chicken. This has happened on other occasions too, where you find out at collecting that theres no plantain for example. There are certain things that should be staples for a Jamaican restaurant so I find it strange that you can just be told we have no rice and peas or plantain. The plantain rom yesterday was soggy and oily. Generally disappointing. I usually don't write reviews but I had to because this wasn't the first time. I wish the quality of the food and service will improve

Excellent Caribbean food and service, mutton curry with rice n peas and salt fish, callaloo and dumplings, washed down with Dragon Stout and Guinness Punch. Brilliant.

The best Caribbean take out I have been to yet. Hats off to the chef the food was amazing. Couldn't decide what to have so ended up with curry goat, rice n peas, steamed veg, dumpling and 1 piece Jerk Chicken. Only comment on the jerk chicken is it would have be nicer if the chicken skin was crispy. The sauce however was really good. Lovely people too that work there. I thoroughly enjoyed what I had.

This was by far the best Caribbean food experience I've had in UK. I had the curry mutton, it was delicious and full of flavor, along with the rice and peas which was exceptional.

I have visited Island lounge cafe many times in the past few months and the food is first class with a good customer service from the staff and the online delivery service is very useful and good 👍 I will recommend any family that love good food to try and discover the venue.

Great place, I was a little.concerned as I'm vegetarian, had the beef(soya) stew with rice and peas....It was amazing! Clean surroundings and the staff were so friendly. I.would definitely recommend this place, and I'll be back again soon!

1 Star is to much. This is not an authentic Jamican takeaway. I had a soup which was watery and tasteless which took close to 30mins. The colours used in the logo are from an African flag NOT Jamaican. In a nutshell this restaurant is bringing a bad name to Jamican cuisine. The deception in it being marketed as a Caribbean is what is upsetting. If you are searching for a Caribbean restaurant and come across Island...keep on searching....

My friends have been talking this restaurant, didn't believe it until I got to see for myself. From the moment I walked in to the moment I stepped out, the service was impeccable, the staff were so friendly, I felt welcome. let's talk about the food; presentation, taste; everything about it felt good. My taste buds were asking for more but my stomach was tight (lolz). Guys I'll recommend this place any time any day, come see for yourself. Once again thanks for the love❤.

Brilliant place, absolutely loved the food and the staff were lovely helping us out with whatever we needed.The portions are brilliant, the cost is good and the decor is fab.Highly recommended, will definitely come again soon!

I don’t usually write reviews but I simply just had too. Island lounge was a lovely way to spend an evening from start to finish! I found it on off-chance googling local Caribbean food. Had a take out during lockdown and enjoyed it so I booked a table! On arrival a very warm welcome from friendly staff. The sweetest naughtiest cocktails & sweet larger 😍... we wasn’t sure what to have our Waiter recommended a platter.. we ended up with a buffet cause we could not choose lol and we were so glad we did.. the food was absolutely amazing best Caribbean food I’ve had in a long time the pictures were only half the table 😅 ate like kings and rolled out of this place very happy! Will definitely return! 👏🏽 🖤 💚 💛
