The Queen Inn Cookhouse & Pub in Sandwell

Been here a few times, it's an ok place to go for a cheap lunch with the wife on a week day, and only down the road for us. They do two main courses for £8.99 during week day lunch times, and dessert for £2.49.The food is generally nice, but there have been a few times I've come in and they've run out of food items on the menu, which means you don't always get the first thing you fancied.Staff are mostly nice and friendly, come across a couple of moody ones once in a while, but I'm not really there to make friends anyway!

Great service from Elaine and Dan, and beautifully cooked meals! Fish and chips perfect, curry creamy and delicious. Couldn't be happier for the price. Thanks so much!

Birthday meal 15/05/2022Diced it bee nice too take my youngest out for food, for his birthday read the reviews and diced that it would be the perfect place too take him and a few family members. The first course was nice minus what was supposed to be loaded nachos, know I’m no chef , what was presented was far from what was displayed on the menu too start with what was cheese had become hard and dry the sour cream was lumpy as if it had been left out fare too long. My sister raised her concerns I raised my concerns with this the sever did all he could too help, telling us he couldn’t refund or swap out this menu item , this was new too me as in my experience if I customer is not happy with a item they are entitled to a refund if not an exchange of item, this was not given to us it seemed they were trying to scrape money where they could ! They could clearly see this item wasn’t of the standards after discussing this for about 3 minutes we then gave up and moved on too our main dishes. It wasn’t the best we diced we wouldn’t be bothered raising the issues as we felt like our concerns wasn’t taken seriously and it was more about the chef maintaining their pride! Had ladies lunch out. I had the gourmet garden burger which is the vegan option and tasted ok. The patty itself didn't taste of much in my opinion. And why was the onion all together? When you get to the middle most of what you got was onion. Coleslaw was ok. Chips was nice. Overall average. The rest of the party ordered desserts and they said they tasted artificial. Really could have been better.

Been here several times, and every time I’m left well satisfied. Food arrives hot & it tastes great , staff always friendly and attentive & the atmosphere is pleasant !! 5 star for general hygiene of the whole place ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Worth the price, deffo recommend, thanks again!

If your server is ileysha & chef is Dylan you know your meal and drinks are going to be 10/10 best meal we've had in a while! So much so we're going back tonight after dining yesterday.

I booked a table for my mothers' birthday after hearing great reviews about the place and the food being amazing (the food was delicious!). However once we had our main and a drink, we asked the waitress for another round, she told us no and that we had to leave because there was a staff meeting before telling us the bar is now closed. It was very strange as a couple of guys on the next table were being asked if they wanted anything else so we felt embarrassed to say the least. Once we called our taxi we had to wait for 25 minutes, during which a member of staff asked us to leave again! While we waited outside people were entering the restaurant to the bar and sitting down - we don't know what was going on or what this 'meeting' was about but it made me and my mother feel very uncomfortable how we were treated and rushed on what was meant to be a special birthday meal! We will not be coming here again that's for sure.

Lot's of food were missing from the menu but still got good quality food. The staff very nice and helpful

A Huge Thank you to all at the cookhouse for making Moms 90th so special, nothing was to much trouble Nicole waited on us with another young man we didn’t get his name they were both superb, a special shout-out to the photo bombers AKA chefs the food was bang on !And to the Manager who was on duty your team did you proud x

Lovely place to dine in, sumptous food the staff are very friendly.. great place to spend a meal with family and friends..will definitely come back to this place. Highly recommended👍👍👍
