Armoury in Shropshire

Great bar overlooking the river. Not tried the food yet, just been a couple of times for a glass of wine. Staff always seem pleasant and attentive.Edit - returned on Friday for lunch. The place was packed but managed to get a table. Fish finger sandwich was top notch.

Lovely place by the side of the river in Shrewsbury. Very clean, food arrived quickly and the bar staff knew their beer which was well kept. Food was lovely, pie and mash was epic and the prawn salad a great light bite. Very dog friendly - attentive staff - can't recommend the place highly enough. Have been here a few times now and it's a great place to go with friends for a drink and a bite, especially if you have dogs!

Excellent food, service and ambience. I tried the Moroccan pie and the flavours were excellent. Good idea to reserve a table as it is often very popular!

A really well placed and well appointed venue, we really like coming here and it's beauty is also it's curse .... what we love is that you can pop on for a pint a quick cup of coffee or a light bite or a full family meal .... the down side to that is if you hit it at the wrong time, revellers do not necessarily mix with quiet family dinners .... so you just need to know when to go I think, but in trying to be everything to everyone it does sometimes miss the mark. The staff have always been super lovely when we have been there , the food great and a good selection of wine and beers. So I can recommended going, just choose your time right for your occasion ....

Lovely place, Christmas decs were beautiful. Lovely to relax with an ale & a light bite late afternoon. Pleasant ambiance, right on the river.

So impressed! We came across this place on an overnight visit to Shrewsbury, looking for somewhere family friendly, dog friendly and with an interesting menu...we ticked all the boxes with The Armoury. The service was impeccable from a clearly hard working team and we really enjoyed our amazing food in a lovely warm and inviting environment. Most impressive though was the simple attention to detail our waitress provided - noticing our dog (settled under the table) and bringing him water without us asking, then topping it up when he'd finished! She also brought carefully considered colouring print outs for the kids which made their evening. A truly lovely evening, we only wish we were locals so we could come back again easily!

Our first visit to The Armoury in Shrewsbury and it won't be our last. It was lovely, friendly, food was lovely with a great choice on the menu. We dined early but didn't feel rushed for the table back and we were happy to finish our drinks in the bar area which had a good atmosphere.

Expected it to be busier on last Friday before Christmas Eve but sadly cancellations were likely to be kicking in as normally would have been packed tight by 7.30. Our meals were delicious, food and plates hot, and served quickly without feeling rushed. Whole restaurant area was spotless and well ventilated. Table service/bar staff were very attentive, very friendly and all wearing face masks! Thoroughly recommend and definately go back- hopefully in January with special offer!

Lovely airy place. Great comfortable seats. Friendly staff. Great choice of real ales, lagers and spirits. Food looked nice. Can't wait to revisit

A lovely place by the river to stop and have lunch while waiting for a river cruise. There are lots of tables outside for a spot of alfresco dining as well as an impressive indoor area. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was good quality and well presented. Prices were reasonable for the location. Overall a good place to eat, would recommend a visit if you're in the area.
