SCALLOUMI or HALLOUPI ….. YOU DECIDELast week, the boys in the R&D Department surpassed themselves, creating a new dish. A slice of Halloumi, between two scallops, battered and deep fried…… it was excellent.However, they have come to blows about what to call it and have both been sent to their rooms until they can agree.

I've had fish n chips from here over the years - and in recent times they now have a system of ordering & paying upfront, then getting out of the stop to stand outside with a ticket to be summoned when the meal's ready, so they're coping with restrictions pretty well.I ordered mini fish and chips, which didn't take long to get, so guessing was freshly cooked The chips were somewhat limp and soggy, not dry like you'll find in other places, which makes them clump together. Similarly, I found the batter slightly greasy, soaking the wrapping paper as though it hadn't rested to let the oil disperse and the coating crisp up under the heated lamps. However, there was no denying the (cod) flesh was pretty firm and meaty, with quite a bit to go around (a good 12-inch length).Will still look at ordering fish from there, but don't think their chips are great.

2nd time I have been treated to a chicken kebab with chips, it was awful the first time but living in hope I accepted a second time and sadly it was even worse! Anaemic undercooked slimy chips I recommend passing by

Pretty good process for payment/collection, which felt safe for social distancing. What strange times we live in, but enjoyed my chippy tea anyway ;)

Prior knowledge required if you don't want a long wait. Everything has to be pre ordered on arrival. So for me I rocked up waited in line, then got pushed effectively to the back of a long queue because I did not order my fish and chicken on arrival. Very frustrating as the whole point of dropping in to collect the family supper was to save and not loose time. Wish I had nocked up a meal at home.....I would have been quicker and cheeper.......

Really nice Fish and Chips with good quality, tasty fish and great chips. Sausage really tasty as well and good, friendly, polite service as always. My first choice for fish and chips in Shrewsbury area.
