First time in the pub since the refurbishment - very impressed by it all. Lovely meal, friendly service, and thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

It was empty when we arrived, 4.30pm on a Saturday, and this probably gave us the wrong first impression. The menu was a little limited, maybe we expected something more pub orientated,. The food was mainly pizzas and burgers and there was no kids menu either. So we're weren't expecting much if truth be told.How wrong we were, so so glad we decided to visit.The pizzas were absolutely superb, quite clearly freshly made from scratch and stonebaked. Easily the best pizzas we've had in the UK in a long long time. The chunky double ( eventriple?) cooked chips were fantastic too. We were so stodged afterwards but kept eating more, they were that good.We were all so impressed. My pizza loving son gave his American (pepperoni) pizza 10 out of 10. Higher praise than it sounds. The owner was super friendly and made us feel really welcome. They've done a great job of the refurb and are smashing the food out the park too. .We tried to book for Sunday lunch the following day but unsurprisingly they were fully booked.The owner says their Sunday lunch is their best food. We're definitely returning.

Had Sunday lunch , superbly cooked fresh local produce, the gravy is on par with my mum's! Super tasty. Go you will not be disappointed.

Lovely country establishment with friendly staff and owner. Not tried the food yet but I am assured by people who have that is lovely. The chef and owner has also trained with Italian chefs and is an expert in Italian cooking. They also do traditional carvery on Sundays. Well worth a trip.
