We took my elderly parents here for a short visit. My Dad has mobility issues and other problems. The staff were amazing, their ground floor room in the Elephant gate house was stunning, and my Dad said it was the nicest hotel he'd ever stayed at in the UK. High praise indeed! Spotlessly clean, good food and a lovely atmosphere. We will be back.

Lovely place to end up after a nice walk. Great atmosphere in the garden with great live music. Not a bad cream tea either, it has to be said. Especially as they serve a decent amount of tea, not a tiny amount that would hardly wash anything down.

A beautiful terrace garden welcomes you for a meal and a drink (and if you're lucky) in the sunshine with splendid vistas over the Shropshire countryside.Inside, the decor is a little jaded yet no matter as the service is fantastic.Be prepared to hear West Midlanders enchantment enjoying a day out and plenty of friendly chat before they head home. Those who live nearby can pinch themselves for having this happy hotel on their doorstep.Castle Hotel is worth the petrol and although that is pricey right now, the value for money lunch will make you feel much better about travelling in your guzzling tank. So too, will be the opportunity to browse around the little shops and local places of interest to make a day of it.

Great, historic hotel with a lovely bathtub in the room we were in and tasty food. We stayed for 2 nights as we were attending a wedding. We had dinner and breakfast here and both were very nice. There’s a pub-style side and a restaurant side so you can choose how you’d prefer to dine.

Really loved our stay at Bishop's Castle and at the Castle Hotel. Our room was lovely even though it was a smaller one. Food was excellent and staff were amazing. I cannot remember being somewhere that all the staff all of the time were exceedingly helpful. All together it was a very relaxing stay. Thank you Castle Hotel.

This was a 3 night stay for a family get together, we booked 3 master rooms. Firstly the staff were excellent, they couldn’t do enough for you, even though it was clear they were under pressure on a busy Easter weekend, they still served you with a smile. Every member took the time to talk to you and did not make you feel like you were inconveniencing them. All the rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable, everything you needed. The garden area has the most amazing views. `Breakfast and evening meals were cooked well and of a good size. Menu was just right and not overloaded. Most importantly for us is how Buddy (our dog) was catered for, there was goodies in the room and even a dog wash outside for after you returned from a walk.I love how they catered for walkers, with loads of information on local walks and the walk of the day at breakfast. That was a lovely touch. The only negative for us was there was no where to seat comfortable after a meal, accept at your table, unless you went outside to the residents terrace. This however is minor and does not effect my score. It is those small touches for Buddy and how the staff were, they were an asset to the hotel. We will go back and stay again

Nicest place there to have something to eat. Would have been five stars but the man behind the bar couldn't really be bothered to listen. Young waitress and other staff were spot on though. Lovely gardens.very relaxed situation and atmosphere

From start to finish we could not ask for better or nicer.Brilliant accommodation, faultless evening meal of great quality and a substantial breakfast with plenty of info and even a daily walk, so you can work an appetite up again. The staff are amazing and SO helpful always with a smile on their face.Definitely a feel good and friendly hotel for “man and dog.”

Enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea here then returned for a meal in the evening. The meal was beautifully cooked. Between us we had duck confit, beef and chicken ham pie. Each dish prepared and cooked perfectly. Best meals out we've for some time.

We booked a family mid week break, the staff were all friendly and efficient, the menu was extensive and good. A great range of local beers were also available. Many local walks available from the hotel so no need to use the car after arrival. Really great stay and thank you to all the staff for making the break so enjoyable.
