Castle Tavern in Shropshire

We just had an excellent Sunday lunch at The Castle, hopefully things returning to pre covid times. The food was great, fresh and hot and the staff were lovely and very attentive. Well done to you all. PS. Where was Dave today? 🤔

Food was lovely. Not a great welcome when walking in. No atmosphere but we were there 15 minutes after it opened. The bloke warmed up too us by the end of our meal

Sorry David,was so looking forward to visiting the castle, had so many good times and brilliant food here in the past, but sadly now such a let down, the food was less than average but high priced, would love to go back again but cant see it in the near future, SADLY, again sorry David,

Just stayed for 4 nights while working locally. Bearing on mind it's the Covid time, this place has been great on all fronts. The rooms are spacious, clean and finished to a high standard. The shower was very powerful and fresh towels were provided daily if you wanted them. A kettle and selection of teas and coffee were also there. All pretty normal stuff but then getting to the better bits. A warm welcome on arrival and a selection of home cooked food offered on the first night. Each night we both had something different and it was all cooked fresh and was tasty and well presented. The portions however are definitely on the large size! Eating outside admiring the amazing view was something to experience and remember for a long time. The hospitality provided by the owner was outstanding and I can't recommend this place enough. It would have been great to have been able to use the pub itself but we are still in the lockdown. Thanks for a great stay.
