Chang Thai Bar and Restaurant in Shropshire

Lovely place! We stopped for lunch in the lounge bar so my comments are based on this. The lunch menu was excellent value and based around 7 or so well known Thai dishes each of which you could have with chicken, beef, prawn or vegetarian. There were also side dishes which you could have as a starter. Service was good too. It made a nice change from pub lunches

The staff were lovely but to be quite blunt the food was very mediocre … the rice came in a receptacle so hot that it was almost too hot to manoeuvre. The portions are tiny at least as far as the stir fry goes. I cook a lot of Thai food myself and generally look to different and hopefully superior iterations but in this instance I was disappointed. Lacklustre presentation … poor portioning & underwhelming flavour.

Had a great night when we stayed on a Thursday night in ludlow. The lady who served us kept our cocktails flowing . We we're the only one's in there, but a few people started coming in, friendly place to go, would recommend 👌

Went as a group of 4 and had a fantastic time. Staff were friendly and prompt for what we needed. Good selection for gluten free (if you tell them what you like they can adapt as Thai food is fresh and cooked from scratch the majority of the menu can be made without wheat). The girls all shared the sharing starter and I had chicken satay then they all had a prawn massaman curry and rice each and I had the chicken pad Thai - everyone said how delicious it was! Will definitely be returning and recommending!

I ate here with my husband and two children and we all loved it. We were sat outside at the back under a large umbrella with heaters so no need to worry if it got a bit cold. The food was really tasty, portions are not that big, we maybe should ha e ordered an extra dish as one wasn't big enough to share between my kids. We all had different desserts, but the bananas was definitely the best!

Service was terribly slow. Staff had 2 speeds slow & stop. Been there over an hour and had only had our starter. Food was average and overpriced. Have had far superior authentic Thai elsewhere.It is in a tourist town that has very few places to eat in evening so has captive audience hence why you have to reserve a table.Would not recommend.Top tip ... Rice portions served in half coconut shell and very very small. Do not recommend sharing!;

This was my first experience of dining in a restaurant, under the 'Eat Out to Help Out Scheme' introduced by the government. It was only possible to reserve a table for lunchtime on Tuesday 18th - evenings were fully booked out.There was outdoor seating which was decently spaced out. I ordered the Pad Thai (main) with Tofu and a starter of Spring Rolls (vegetable), all served on the same plate. A Chang-style lager went well with it. I think this is the best Thai Meal I have tasted for a while; the restaurant is worth another visit and I will try out the other meals :)

Delicious food! Friendly staff and very quick service.

Have been a couple of times and the first time had a great experience when they were doing thai style kebabs. The second time we went to the restaurant and had chicken stay which was OK, but not nearly enough satay about the amount of one bit of chicken rather than 4. Had sticky rice and the new beef main. Which was ok in flavour but not outstanding.

I could have stayed here for hours! The atmosphere in the bar was super relaxed... Lots of unusual art, some from a local artist, and little starry lights gave it all a warm glow. Tables, chairs, barstools and sofas give you plenty of seating options. The staff were all friendly, inviting and attentive. We had a nice tapas platter to start and a main meal each, all packed full of flavour and hot. All topped off with some rather delicious dessert cocktails. Fab evening with the hubby whilst visiting Ludlow.
