The Lantern Cafe/The Library are both in the same building...A cafe inside the library..Lovely, cosy, warm,clean and the coffee and shortbread were perfect. The cooking smells...soup, toast and more permeating in this area were so enticing and got the taste buds going.The staff were very friendly, welcoming and made us feel totally comfortable.Thank you...

Clean, spacious, but expensive and unimpressive. Their food prices come close to equalling coffee bars such as Café Nero but the experience does not compare. The coffee is also poor tasting. It clearly relies on convenience and being the only place to go.

If I could give this a rating of 1/4 of a star I would. It's at best mediocre - Below average food, absurd prices, miserable looking staff, the place is always treated as their own family place of congregation. Furthermore, they don't know how to clean their own premises, cleaning floors, surrounding areas, place their own condements on their own tables and take their own recycling and trash to the bins. Would absolutely NOT recommend this place. Out of all the cafés I know of in this wonderful town, this here is one of the worst.

A little expensive for what I had. Think coffee was £1.80. Which was nice, but when you are there for training, worked out to be very costly for the day.

I arrived too late for the special but was fed a very tasty cheese and ham toasty. The choice of light meals, snacks and drinks was comprehensive for a small unit in a local community centre and library. The service was good, with lots of regular customers and my simple meal was presented attractively with a salad garnish. I would use this lovely little eating hole again.

This is a fabulous community centre cafe. Tea and coffee just how you like it, lots of choice of sandwiches, cakes and snack. Hit food served too. All at a very reasonable price.

Lovely Jacket Potatoes! Shame their salad garnish has shrunk over the years. Rarely anybody on reception. Rooms great for conferences though.

Small cafe within the same building as the library. Friendly staff. Affordable prices. Delicious food. What more is there to say?
