Csons in Shropshire

What a breakfast! I had "The Full CSONS" and the flavours were incredible. The bacon was excellent, the chorizo patty delicious, the beans super tasty... it was a real struggle deciding what to finish with - I do like to chose my lingering taste! I chose the chipotle sauce and found it had too much heat for my liking; I've not had chipotle sauce before so didn't really know what to expect. Small amounts were fine but otherwise it overpowered the amazing flavours of the food. The Americano coffee was fine; it felt like a coffee more suitable for milky drinks than having black. The decaf cortado I had a bit later was fabulous. Add to that a nice location (I wish I'd opted to eat in the shaded courtyard). This is an excellent place to have breakfast.

My favourite place to eat out in Shrewsbury due to the care taken over the flavour and quality of each dish, the amazing vegan + gf options and the overall value for money. Great understanding of all dietary and allergy requirements and very friendly accommodating staff.

11 of us stopped by Shrewsbury as a midpoint to meet on our route to Wales for the Bank Holiday weekend. We booked at CSons and it was truly amazing.A small but welcoming place. I loved the idea that it was seasonal food (Cson - season). There were artistic posters around showing what foods were available in certain seasons.Anyway, to the food!Being vegan I had the:Harissa Cauliflour - Small plate. This was delicous and very flavoursomeSalt Baked Celeriac - Small plate. This was insane. If you've never had baked celeriac before then this is a must! There was so many textures and flavours and the portion sizes were decent. Accompanied with a side of greens and potatoes (which are vegan) that I shared with my partner.They didn't have a specific dessert for vegans apart from the usual sorbet but I asked the waiter and he said there was a ginger cake that wasn't on the menu. So they whipped up something for me and it was stunning and delicious. In my top 3 for desserts! See the overly happy me with me dessert in the picture!Overall:Csons caters for all. Meat lovers to vegans alike. The food is rich, flavorsome and textual. The price is on the higher side, but when you get good quality food, great service and enjoyment, then it is 100% worth it!

Excellent food and very relaxed setting. Great service. Perhaps a way of keeping the small plates of food hot on the table would work... but overall very enjoyable and fabulous flavours all round.

One of our favorite restaurants in Shrewsbury after today’s meal. Nice powerful Mediterranean flavours with vegan options on their dinner menu.

Loved this little gem of a place. Service was excellent, just the right amount of attentiveness. The menu was described to me in an effort to help w my decision making, if items weren't available, that was mentioned at the beginning. What impressed me most apart from the food was the staff's v keen attention to cleanliness & hygiene. Lots of hand gelling, and mask wearing which greatly reassured me.

Great coffee and breakfast. Nice ingredients. Staff working extremely hard in a busy environment. Relaxed atmosphere.

My partners words “best breakfast I’ve ever had”. Turned up after 12 today on a slightly quiet Monday and they still seated and made breakfast for us. Which we were very grateful for. The coffee was just what I wanted I had to have another. The breakfast was something that differed form your usual, in a really wonderful way. Local produce, lots of spices and interesting flavours. So glad we stumbled upon this place. The place filled up by the time we left, obviously popular.Absolutely would recommend. Loved it. Thank you.

The service was great, we asked several questions about what things were on the menu and the staff were really helpful. We had the small sharing plates which were all delicious!

Super meal here with great friends on Friday night. Beautiful food…the freshness and mix of ingredients was delightful. It was a flavour explosion! Smoked salmon to start followed by the most tender and perfectly cooked rump steak. I will definitely be returning. Fab service and vibes here too. I love seeing local businesses take such pride and as a result thrive. Thanks again!
