Dog Inn and Davenport Arms in Shropshire

Went for Sunday lunch today and was not disappointed the food was excellent, good sized portions very well cooked excellent service will be definitely going back…..well done all..

Went today for Sunday lunch lovely little pub that looks like a house & what can I say the food was top notch all 3 courses were to die for everything homemade staff lovely will definitely be returning 😋

I visited the Dog Inn on the evening of Wednesday 12 January 2022 for a Camra ( Campaign for Real Ale ) meeting. It is many years since my last visit and I was impressed by how the Dog Inn has been smartened up without loosing its character.Be aware that The car park to the rear of the Dog is very small, up a steep track with space for only six cars , but when the village primary school is closed visitors to the Dog are allowed to the schools car park.The Dog had 3 real ales available when I visited from Wye Valley Brewery and Hobsons . I sampled a good drink of Wye Valley HPA .The Dog is still offering food and various chalk boards around the bar showed some tempting food selections. Great to see this village local is still thriving .

Lovely secluded pub. Nice food, cosy atmosphere.

Extremely rude and unfriendly Landlady, only my second visit to this pub but will definitely be my last.

Unfriendly to the point of being rude , totally disinterested in my presence , both myself and my girlfriend tried to chat to the owner who clearly didn’t want to know and wasn’t interested , left in a bad mood and certainly wouldn’t return ! Average food at best and ignorant rude staff !

ShamefulWe visited the Dog again to see if we received the same poor reception.We did not go to eat just to have a drink.We were met with regular customers blocking the access to the bar. Youthful customers who persistently used bag language that the landlord failed to correct.The beer was excellent but welcome far from.With ladies present it would appear that they receive no consideration.What a shame, a reply would be appreciatedMike from Albrighton

Have visited a few times. Its such a lovely and friendly place, dogs are made welcome too. The staff are lovely and friendly and helpful and make you feel very welcome. A very enjoyable experience. Thank you x

We found this pub by accident, absolutely love the place, food amazing, staff and locals very friendly, can't complain about prices or portion sizes, my other half normally orders extras and here he doesn't have too. Been 3 times in 2 weeks and will go again.
