Excellent service, good selection of drinks and the nibbles are so tasty. Will definitely come back!

Came here today for lunch and drinks with the family. Staff were so polite and so helpful, especially the gentleman who worked there (sorry don't know his name) but he made sure that we could get a table for 6 even though we hadn't booked. Food was very yummy, setting warm and cosy, will definitely recommend.

Criticism first, the service is slow - but everything else still gives this 5 stars!! Food is superb and the environment is cosy and relaxed. The staff are really helpful and friendly and a real credit. Will definitely return again!

Definitely highly recommended.Book a table before you go. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the atmosphere and menu immensely. The staff were knowledgeable about the dishes and drinks on offer. There was a separate vegetarian menu. Their website is really well done too.We had tempura prawn and chorizo starters - delicious. Pork belly and beef Wellington were amazing; served with yummy vegetables, mash etc. all beautifully presented. I’d love to go back! The only thing I’d warn peeps about is the uneven cobblestone walkway outside in the alley in front of restaurant - tread carefully. It’s very old and not particularly friendly to baby prams, wheelchairs or high heels, nor, I imagine, drunken patrons.

Been to this restaurant many times. The food is always phenomenal. Aways creating such unique and delicious dishes. Personally I tried beef Wellington for the first time here and it was incredible. I will definitely be ordering that again! The staff are always so polite and friendly and have great knowledge of the menu. Would definitely recommend here.

Gorgeous roast beef lunch. Staff so polite and helpful. One of the best places I have eaten in a long time. Going back to Shrewsbury just so I can eat here again on the evening menu which looks really good too.

Lovely food and nice, competent staff. We were served quickly and the servers were able to tell when we were ready to order.I had the beef wellington and white chocolate cheese cake. Both were well cooked and tasted great. Portion sizes were good but not sure I could have manged 3 courses. We were sat in the upstairs restaurant, the only issue we did have was the staff and kitchen staff seemed to be walking between the two kitchens/areas with pots and kitchen equipment. While it wasn't a big problem I can see how it could spoil a romantic evening.Overall, I would recommend and would go back.

Second visit here and loved it both times. The first time we came here was at lunchtime on our minimoon just after our wedding last September. We loved it then and knew we had to come back to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. This time we came in the evening and was coincidentally sat at the same as the first visit. The waitress was hospitable and attentive. For starters we had the plaice and salmon fishcake and the chicken liver parfait. For mains we had the belly pork, roast potatoes and gravy; and sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce and chips. All the food was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. I also ordered a few of the cocktails off the menu which were delicious too.

First time here, but loved the food. Not the cheapest or the biggest quantities but very nice all the same. Large, open spaces for dining and drinking. Well worth a visit on a night out.
