Latimer's of Shifnal in Shropshire

Incredible food and service.Managed to get in on a Saturday night after months of trying to book last minute (which is impossible as it's always fully booked)! I got organised and actually booked in advance this time!Instantly we were welcomed and seated at our table by the owner who was simply wonderful. She couldn't have been more attentive and helpful, really was an example of how service should be at a restaurant. We felt so welcome here.My starter was absolutely incredible and for the main I went for the rib eye steak. This was by far the tastiest steak I've eaten at a restaurant for years! Honestly it was just sublime and cooked to perfection. My Mrs had seabass and that was incredible also- I'm not a fan of fish but I'd happily go back and have that next time so that says it all really.You can see why this place is fully booked all the time. Amazing food, amazing service at a decent price point too. Its easily the best restaurant in Shifnal (by a country mile) and I'd even go as far to say its one of the best in Telford.

The food was excellent and so was the service. Very friendly. My only niggle was the seats are a bit hard on derriere...but still worth it

My fiancé bought me here for my birthday. I absolutely loved it! The staff were so welcoming! They gave us some gin to sample as well, on the house! The food was lovely and the portions were great. It has been. my favourite meal out for a long, long time. I will definitely be returning again! Really good value for money - genuinely, couldn’t recommend this place enough ❤️

Beautiful Sunday lunch, huge portions - we had our desserts boxed up to enjoy later. The service was efficient, attentive and friendly, special mention to Nic who looked after us very well. Highly recommended. Looking forward to another visit when we're next up in Shifnal. Thank you Latimer's.

Service and quality the way they are supposed to be. Latimers is run by people who serve the types of food and drink that they themselves would prefer... and it shows. Taste, quality and very good value. You wont find better dining anywhere in the area.

Had our work Xmas do here recently and every course of our 3 course festive meal was absolutely delicious. I had the cauliflower, red onion and 3 cheese soup which was incredible, the turkey and duck duo - the duck was cooked to perfection, and the crème brûlée is always a favourite of mine.Staff are all friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming.Constructive criticisms: I think the ice cream would be served best on the side of the crème brûlée so it doesn't take away the crunch of the caramelised top, but otherwise still deserving of 5 stars and will be back soon

We had a lovely meal, it was pie night! 2 courses for £15. Well worth the money. There was £15. Worth of meat in it... Struggled to eat it all. Too full for dessert so it was packaged up for us to take home! Lovely food, lovely service and friendly staff.

Visited on 18.9.21. The food was superb and reasonably priced. Cocktails were also very nice. The vanilla cheesecake and hot chocolate fudge brownie were sublime.If anything the service was even better than the food - which is some feat! Waitresses were all very genial and made us feel very welcome.Can't speak highly enough of this restaurant. Top class

Great place, went 2 nights running, food is lovely and good portions, couldn't manage a dessert 1st night but made sure we just about had room on second night. Great owner she was very friendly we mentioned on the 1st night that we had come to Shropshire for our wedding anniversary, and she remembered us on our second night asking how we had spent our day and wishing us a safe trip home the next day, excellent service would highly recommend and if we are ever in the area again will definately be there.

Wow, the food here was gorgeous. Today was our 1st visit of many I imagine. Thought it lacked a little ambience at 1st, nothing a bit of background music wouldn't resolve. Service was great & we were well looked after, but the food was the star of the show. Hubby had chicken & mushroom pie followed by apple & raspberry crumble - he said both were the best he'd ever had. I had the sizzling chicken which was so tasty. The only downside was no childrens menu but our son enjoyed the scampi & chips.
