Very lovely hotel and delicious food. One member of the staff was exceptional - upbeat, joyful, helpful - the rest appeared to do what they had to because it was their job. Would happily stay again.

Our second time visiting, and it was just as incredible as we remembered. We went only for Sunday Lunch, rather than staying in the hotel - but the staff are all amazing, it's lovely and clean, and the food is unreal. It's defintely been cemented as one of our favourite places to eat.

The evening meal in the restaurant was a bit disappointing. We went through three drinks choices they didn't have. So I just had estrella. That's fine.Other half's meal just ended up being some roast veg.Mine was the size of a starter, and mixed up broccoli with rocket salad.Breakfast I had one sausage. And not even a good sized. Half a black pudding. And half a mushroom. Which I asked not to. Its a good job I'm not allergic or anything. Scrambled egg was nice though ill give them that.WiFi didn't get to our room as it was about 4 shops away, I didn't fit under the shower. The location of the hotel is great, the decor stylish and modern but that ends up being the overall problem with the lion and pheasant, the style is way more important than the substance.

Chic/boutique. Nicely decorated. Our biggest issue was, no lift and no one offered to help with our bags.A busy, quite noisy hotel with not much in the way of comfortable seating downstairs.Disappointed to see black mould on the grout in the shower, quite sure this would be easily addressed with a little brush and 'elbow grease'.Location ideal for both town and river walks.Probably suited more to the younger generation.I doubt we would stop here again.

The food was beautifully presented and also delicious. The service was great and the facilities were clean and tastefully decorated. The chef created elegant versions of well-known desserts (such as apple strudel and black forest gateau) which looked nothing like the original but had all the flavours and textures that one would have expected to find.It was a real treat for our whole family. Will come again.

A good boutique style hotel. Room was comfortable although the double bed felt a little small. Bathroom was adequate but could have used a little TLC. Excellent bar areas downstairs and the breakfasts were very good. Limited parking at the rear but it's a bit of a squeeze to get in. I would certainly recommend staying here if you are staying in Shrewsbury.

We had a seventieth birthday party last evening... Food was incredible... Sharing platters for starters were delicious, everyone had delicious food, excellent service.... Wonderful staff, sorry we were a little loud but we enjoyed your wonderful place.. Fab decor, beautiful touches... The pink geranium in the alcove against a turquoise wall was beautiful ❤️

Hotel was nice in general but they treated us like we weren’t trusted, made us pay on arrival, then as we checked out they embarrassed us by saying we hadn’t paid! Also another couple who were checking out were allowed to pay as they were leaving.Once we told them “yes we did on arrival, like your staff member instructed us too”Staff member was like “oh ok no problem “Lack of communication from staff. If your face, accent or attire don’t fit I’d suggest staying away from here!Seems to us we were judged as soon as we walked in

We arrived at the hotel and the outside area was very presentable and welcoming. We headed in to check in and we were greated by a very friendly member of staff, she even provided us with a map when we said we were visiting the area. She directed us where to find our room and off we went. This hotel is modern but is charming, there were so many quirky things to see on our way to the room. The room itself was a very good size, and had a larger than average bathroom. It was homely with original features like the fireplace but was also nice and modern with a boohoo vibe. We were provided with slippers which were much needed as the carpet was was a hard carpet. We had a small issue with the shower but it wasn't a problem at all it was fixed very quickly by the lovely gardener. We enjoyed using the common space in the hotel corridor to sit back and relax with a tea from our room it made it a lovely stay. The bed was very comfortable and we had a very good nights sleep. The breakfast the following morning was quickly prepared. However the menu said there was a continental option but we were only offered a hot breakfast. The breakfast was great quality and well cooked.. The toast was not great as we were given the ends of the loaf in a bucket and they were burnt. Plenty of juice and hot drinks available.Checkout was smooth and we would stay here again.

Enjoyed a lovely tapas evening under their covered outside area. The suite was lovely although could hear the person in the above room walking around. The bed was big and comfortable and the breakfast choices very good. All staff were friendly and helpful.
