Nags Head Pontesbury in Shropshire

A friend recommended that we try the food here. With an extremely picky husband I usually wait to see what I call his 'food face' if something is not perfect. He didn't twitch!! So both of us agreed that the food was excellent and plentiful. Service friendly so all good.

I will be honest we only picked here because it was the only place open on a Monday evening near where we were staying on holiday. I’m glad we did. The place was spotlessly clean and had a lovely spacious layout. The food was fab and the staff were very attentive. My husband and I both had the fish and chips which was really good. They did have a kids menu but our kids fancied something off the adult menu which they shared between them, it ended up being the perfect amount for two little ones and the staff were great at getting extra plates and cutlery to divide the food up. We had a very yummy desert and left feeling very pleased we had started our holiday with a meal at the nags head.

Stopped off on the way home glad we did the food was excellent and staff really nice well worth a visit will be going back there in the near future.

Great food. Friendly service.Our family of 5 ate on a Thursday night after booking at short notice. They kindly allowed our dog in the bar area. We all really enjoyed the food and we’re made to feel very welcome. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Excellent menu, attentive and friendly staff.Getting busier as everywhere gets back to normal and yet the staff work hard to keep things moving despite the challenges. Great choice of food and drinks. Lovely ambience. Our regular haunt (having given up on a few other establishments due to poor service). Bravo to the management as well for maintaining standards.

We like the nags head food and service normally very good ,but on Saturday evening after waiting for an hour for our food to arrive I was a little disappointed when my 8 oz sirloin was small for a 8oz the plate was full of chips lots of mushrooms and 2 halves of cooked tomato just to fill the plate I was so hungry I ate it without complaint because I didn't want to wait another hour. C'mon mags head you are better than this.

Had the 3 course Sunday lunch today,and I must say it was one of the best Sunday lunches we've had in a long time,had the prawn starter was delicious, will definetly be returning😉

Called around 3pm friendly well. Warm comfy atmosphere. Good choice of menu I choose sea bass which was absolutely delicious.Highly recommend

Had a lovely evening meal with my step daughter and her partner , the food was wonderful along with great drinks and excellent service , an enjoyable evening !
